Usually when you marry late very grand wedding happens more than normal 25-30 year old first timers. All family, siblings, friends help kids help both financial or everything else. Why they do grand is that age you are not sure how long you live 10 years 20 years so make it much more happy ocassion to remember for bride groom and family friends

I get your disappointment. I mean we all wanted grand maan wedding after so much of drama and makers messed it up big time but...doing court marriage and saada simple marriage is not that bad. And upper lower class comparison has nothing to do with it. Its about couple's preference. Many people now a days are preferring simple court marriage followed with a small dinner party for friends amd relatives and I think its a very nice trend in a country like india where parents of couple, specially bride are so stressed and burdened with all the unnecessary expenses and pomp and show just to impress the society. People also take loans for this and later spent a good few years of their life in repaying installments.

If you're rich fine go all out, but not everyone can afford that and it's okay. A relationship isn't going to get stronger with a lavish wedding.
