Anyway, even if it's true, people rarely stay with the one they have an affair with. Those are people who are good enough when you have to hide. When you divorce and the whole world opens up, there are a lot more options available and they don't have to settle anymore.

Well, this is what I know from all the gossip columns:

Aishwarya was dating some other actor Simbhu back in 2004 and he dumped her. She was left heartbroken and apparently knocked up (there are varying accounts of who the father was and I am not sure at what point she started dating D). There was also some leaked MMS of hers with her then boyfriend. Anyway long story short many believe Rajni essentially forced/bribed D's family to marry his daughter. Aishwarya probably saw marriage as a way of saving face in a conservative society back then.

D probably saw the marriage as an opportunity to rise up the ranks in Kollywood by being associated with a big name like Rajni. He was a new actor back then after all.

This pandemic has led to so many divorces and separations. Before pandemic, husband and wife had a job to go to and did not have to interact with each other or stay in the same home 24/7. Corona Lockdowns are a real test of true love in a relationship.

This is actually so true. Most people hardly see each other when they're working. Maybe 2 hours at night. It's easy to ignore their annoying traits because there's no time to even get upset about it.

Lockdown forced most people to be together 24/7 for the last 2 years and they ended up realizing that they don't like each other.

So Simbu used to ring her up n scolding her for dumping him.That call also leaked in media.Dhanush said that he married Aishwarya only to escape from gossips.till 2 weeks before fixing the marriage he was calling her akka.Rajnikanth was against this marriage.Its his Godfather Balachandar who convinced Rajni to conduct their wedding.Dhanush was a new actor.But he was giving back to back superhits.So he was the number young new comer of those times.
