I remember celebs and films, TV shows, concerts mostly had message of communal harmony, equality, brotherhood in past. And often stars went out of their way to spread communal harmony through films or interviews.

What happened since 1980s or early 90s? Cases of hate speech by celebs increased from mid 80s.

And celebs spreading hate on basis of caste, region, race, gender, religion has gone to another level altogether since 2014 as social media became more widely spread.

Films are more polarised and have less messages of harmony or rising above identity.

Why? Why some celebs have begun to misuse their position and following?

Breaks my heart to see public figures spread hate or argue over religion or caste or region. Or share fake news, propaganda, become willing pawns to spread venom...
