The Kings need a win to have any chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings are set to lock horns with Punjab Kings in Match No.53 ipl. The Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, have already made their way through to the playoffs in the T20 tournament.

However, they are yet to cement their berth in the top two as the Royal Challengers Bangalore can still topple them to second. 

Dhoni’s men have lost two games in a row and are in a bit of strife going into their last league game. In their previous game, the Delhi Capitals beat them by six wickets.

The Kings, led by KL Rahul, on the other hand, are gasping for breath in the bottom of the table. A loss in their next game would see them crash out of the T20 league.

For all the 8 teams, today and tomorrow , they are  going to play their last matches

It is going to be one of the crucial matches for both sides. While Chennai Super Kings will be looking to finish in the top 2 spots, Punjab Kings, on the other hand, must win this match to stay in the playoffs race.

I was thinking about these matches this morning.  Except the last match between RCB and DC, rest of the three matches are significant in deciding who is going to be the 4th team in the playoffs.  

For PBKS to gain a spot in the final 4, they not only have to win this match by good margin, but KKR and MI have to lose their respective matches that too with a reasonable margin.

It is good that every match is going to be a nail biting match for some.
