IPL 2021 Match 33,Delhi Capitals v/s Sunrisers Hyderabad September 22nd, 2021.
DC will resume its bid to jump into the top spot as it takes on bottom-ranked SRH which on today.
T Natarajan is tested covid positive.
It’s match 4 in the second phase of IPL 2021, and it’s the table-toppers Delhi Capitals taking on the bottom-ranked team, Sunrisers Hyderabad. Even as both the teams are having had contrasting fortunes in the first half, they would be starting afresh in the second half.
From the team standpoint, Delhi Capitals will have Rishabh Pant as their main captain instead of their primary captain Shreyas Iyer. Whereas Kane Williamson, who replaced David Warner as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s captain in the first leg would continue to lead the side in the second phase.
The return of Shreyas Iyer in the squad solves a big headache which Delhi Capitals were facing in the first half. With Iyer at 3, a firing Top-order, a young and inspirational captain, Rishabh Pant, a brilliant all-rounder Marcus Stoinis at 5, the only question that Delhi would have is the selection of the number 6 player.
Delhi Capitals have Shimron Hetmyer, Sam Billings, Steve Smith, and Tom Curran for this spot. But given the history and current form, it should most-likely be Shimron Hetmyer playing at 6. It makes for a beautiful left-right combination for Delhi Capitals with 3 lefties and 3 righties in the top 6.
Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin shall continue to lead the spin bowling all-rounder duties at 7 and 8 respectively. Given the success of Avesh Khan in the first half, he will join Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje as the leading pacers of the squad.
The biggest question for Sunrisers Hyderabad would be whether to play David Warner. Well, had Jonny Bairstow being available, David Warner would have definitely not played the game. But with Bairstow not there, will SRH play Jason Roy ahead of Warner?
Let us watch next IPL match today.
