Why was Ayesha Takia's performance in Dor ignored at awards functions?

Throwback to 2007, when the awards functions took place for awarding 2006 performances. Not a single award function awarded her the best actress, when it was easily the best performance of 2006 (a lot of people felt that way). Instead, Kareena's performance in Omkara and Kajol's performance in Fanaa won awards, though I feel Ayesha was far superior in Dor.

Thoughts??

Acting wise, it was Shreya's Talpade who stole the show in the movie.

And yeah she was better than Kareena but in BW, they try to give everything to Kajol, Kareena and Alia, their three insider girls, who are supposedly the best acting talent among their inner circle.

I never understood why people liked her in that movie? Gul was way better than her and I thought she was the main lead.

I liked them both, but Gul was clearly portraying the supporting character.

Her Meera in Dor was aaaaamazing
