1I re-visited this amazing short film that I watched on Doordarshan back in my childhood and only today I realized that the Dadi was played by none other than the stellar Surekha Sikri. Always a tear-jerker.
I strongly implore you to watch this if you haven't. It's based on a story by Munshi Premchand and directed by Gulzar.
She was sweet in Eidgah . Was a great actress . Got her dialects right. She'll be missed. It sucks that so many people from that generation are gone. Celebs or otherwise
