After watching today's episode and after reading certain posts, both here and on twitter, I realised that many people didn't like the fact that Sai gave Virat's oendant away and that too without thinking that it could hurt his feeling. Now, I completely agree that it was wrong of Sai, but I have some thoughts as to why Sai did what she did. It might be easier for me to say that people should just ignore it and that everyone has flaws and all but just in case this thought has gone through anyone's head (just in case), I would like to point out that I am pretty sure no one actually feels like this is a big deal, and no one is being too judgemental or grouch but rather everyone is just putting their opinions. I wrote this because this was the first thought that came into my sister's mind after reading the posts, so I decided to clear it all out.
Now, for the main topic. Sai was wrong to give away the pendant. But what I probably think happened was that she didn't actually think it all through. When she heard that Kaku wanted a pendant just like hers, she just gave it to her the same way she was willing to give her jewellery to Devi Tai. The reason she didn't actually think that Virat would be much affected was because she herself wasn't affected. This is one trait which we all know that Sai lacks. She sometimes just cannot comprehend how her actions would affect the others. She just do what she think is right. Not entirely a good trait to have (or lack thereof), but it is one of the things Virat actually love about her, that she does what she thinks is right (I think spontaneous personality is the word). As of now, it seems wrong because she is still immature, but in the future, as she matures, she will know when to use this and when not to. She wasn't as affected by the pendants as she was by the fact that Virat remembered and he bought it for her. So, when the time came when she had to give it away, she did it without any second thoughts because for her the pendant wasn't of that much value, and she thought Virat would think so too. Add it to the fact that she always saw Virat putting his family above everything else, sacrificing so much for them. He always said that living in joint family is just like that. She was always told that she just don't know how joint family works. So, when she finally had the chance to do something that will be considered joint-family-worthy, she did it excitedly, happy that she is finally getting how joint family system works. But unfortunately, she didn't realise that it wasn't as simple as that. When Pakhi told her that she had Virat, you could see the realisation dawn upon her, but I think either she didn't want to believe that or she didn't think that she had that much effect over Virat.
Now this entire thing about not realising how one's particular action affected the other is not something new when we talk about SaiRat. Virat has done it several times (usually with something related to Patralekha), and Sai had done it too. It is something which happens with all couples. And we can easily see that Virat is now getting how to read Sai’s expressions and comprehend whether his actions have hurt her or not. I am pretty sure that soon we will see the same with Sai (by soon I mean maybe another 100-200 episodes). This is just how their character will grow together as a couple, and how mutual understanding will develop between them. So it is all just part of the journey. We should just sig back and relax, for as long as the makers will let us.
I felt that this post had way too much positivity, so I am going to add a pinch of negativity here: I still don't feel like this serial has any good story plot in it. The only thing interesting about it is SaiRat and their characted growth which is hadd se zyaada slow.
There you go! Now it feels complete.
