DISCLAIMER :

As per the prevailing laws, FIR of a major crime (′cognizable crimes like theft, burglary, motor vehicle theft, accident, chain-snatching, assault, rape, murder, attempt to commit murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion etc) can only be registered at a Police Station. Please contact your nearest Police Station for the same.

This site shall only entertain complaints about minor crimes (′non-cognizable crimes′).Your complaint shall be referred to the concerned Police Station, where you may be called for further clarification and/or to give statement.

Non-Cognizable offense are forgery, defamation, public nuisance and other minor crimes. Mumbai Police only registers Online FIRS for petty crimes.

OP Singh IPS thinks he's above the law, filing complaints for "Danger to life", " Unlawful Confinement" online. Filing FIRs in Bihar. Sushant must get justice but the law must be withheld. Can't bend the law to suit your needs.

Had the DGP informed about the same to the IPS Officer, that they are waiting for an official FIR, probably they could have thought about it. Saying 'Acknowledged' does not mean literally 'Acknowledged' and 'Then do nothing'. That's just 'Read' which even the blue tick conveys. Do nothing and write a misleading/false acknowledgment and then when the concerned person supposedly dies in 4 months, declare it as suicide in 15 mins or so.

Abysmal. 🤔 The last discussion that I'd want to do here is on the cautionary complaint and its jurisdiction made for the deceased. We will keep discussing why MP didn't do anything and what BIL should have done, a life is lost already in between the process. It's a huge sysmatic failure, and ONLY from Mumbai Police side this time.

What would a resonable person of sound mind, concerned about his family's security do in this situation?

Fill out the required paper work and fax/email them in. Why didn't OP Singh act in a reasonable manner? Why didn't he inquire or follow up?

Its an important question. He didn't want an official inquiry, thats why. He wanted it done unofficially just like he wanted upgrades and "other perks" at his hotel.

The onus isnt on the police. Its on his brother in law. He decided to not follow the procedure explained to him by the Mumbai Police. Either he wasnt all that concerned about Sushants life or the "family's izzat" was more important.
