Doesn't India have patient confidentiality laws? Talking to the police, or the family and their lawyer is one thing - contacting the media is quite another.

She could’ve gone to the police with this info

Why would any therapist say anything like this out in the open? She could disclose this behind the scenes with the police or law enforcement officials..but I refuse to believe any therapist would just randomly disclose a person's mental history out in the public especially in such an overwhelming case.
