I wanted to write it as an OS but it became a bit long. So will post the second part later. Don't know what to call it, OS/TS😆 This is more of wishful thinking than os as i was so angry on Mini about what she did to the Ani's certificate😔quite nervous about this but do give it a try
Okay so here it goes...
Rudhita OS/TS : The Certificate
It was nighttime. Everyone in the Roy chowdhury mansion already had dinner and had retreated to their respective rooms. Anirudh was vainly trying to sleep. He was feeling very guilty and sad. The way Bondita's face dropped when he snatched the bowl of roshogullas from her during dinner was troubling him. He knew how much she loved roshogullas. "Main kyun nahi kha sakti roshogulla?" she had asked with a sad face and his heart churned. He knew what he did was for her own good but still she was a kid.
"Lekin Bondita ki yeh bistar gila karne ki aadat toh sudhaarni hi hogi voh bhi che din mein varna baba use iss ghar mein rehne nahi denge. Par voh kitni udaas hogayi thi, baat karun kya usse? vaise bhi subah se itna kuch hogaya aur Bondita se thik se baat karne ka mauka hi nahi mila mujhe" he said aloud to himself and got up from his bed to meet her. He couldn't be at peace until he talked to her and consoled her properly. While walking towards her room, He recalled, how she had got scared and ran away to drink water when he shouted at her in a bid to make her understand. 'How stupid of you to do that Anirudh' he thought. He promised himself that he wouldn't let his anger get the better of him this time.
As he entered her room, he saw Bondita sobbing silently in a corner. And his heart went out to her. He slowly went towards her and sat down next to her and asked " Kya hua Bondita? Soi kyun nahi tum abb tak?"
"Aapke vajah se hi ro rahi hun main. Mujhe maa ke paas nahi jaane diya aur abb mujhe roshogulla bhi nahi khane diya. Bacchon se bhi koi mithai cheenta hai kya? Aapne toh mere vivah karne ki dono sharten nahi maani, na mujhe roshogulle diye khane ko, aur na maa ko leke aaye mere paas. Mujhe nahi rehna hai yahan, kisi ko parvah nahi mujhe mere maa ke paas jana hai" She managed to say in between her sniffs.
He really felt bad for her. Was he being so harsh to her that she didn't want to live here anymore? He couldn't really blame her. Nobody in his family liked her much and he, who had brought her here, never bothered about what was happening to her. He saw her face had turned red due to crying. It was such a contrast to the day she entered the house when she seemed so happy to be here with her eyes full of awe and today she looked like she would run at the first chance she gets to escape this house. And he was the biggest person to blame here. He could see he had miserably failed at the promise he had given Maa to take care of her.
"Bohot bura hun na main? Sorry" was all he could manage to say with his head down for what he was feeling now and holding his hand to his ears.
" Ye sor...sorry kya hota hai?" asked Bondita, her curiosity taking better of her.
He smiled at her question. " Sorry ka matlab hai maafi mangna"
"Iska matlab mai kal se roshogulla kha sakti hun? Aap nahi rokenge mujhe?" asked Bondita, her face brightening up instantly at the prospect of getting to eat her favourite sweet.
" Nahi, bilkul nahi" he said hurriedly and her face dropped again.
"Main jo kar raha hun tumhare acche ke liye hi kar raha hun Bondita. Tumhi kehti ho na tumhari iss aadat ke vajah se bohot bura lagta hai, sharam bhi aati hai.
Toh, tumhe apni yeh aadat sudharni hai ki nahi? Aur chinta matt karo, tumhari iss aadat mein thoda sudaar aagaya toh phir se kha lena roshogulla" he tried to explain to her.
She nodded her head sadly. He then said "Accha ek kam karten hain, jab tak tum, roshogulla nahi khati mai bhi nahi khaunga, thik hai? He asked.
" Shotti?" Her face brightened a bit at this and then suddenly asked "Par baki sab toh khayenge na? Voh Batuk bhi khaega, aur mujhe chidhayega bhi ki mai nahi kha sakti"
He laughed lightly at her concern of Batuk teasing her "Main Batuk ko samjhaunga, voh nahi chedega tumhe" he reassured her and then added "Aur ye bhi toh socho ki maa kitni khush hogi ki tumhari bistar gila karne ki aadat choot gayi"
"Shotti? Maa ke paas leke jaayenge aap mujhe?" She asked happily wiping away her tears.
"Haan jaayenge aur kuch din unke saath rahenge bhi. Khush? Par tumhe meri har baat manni padegi thik hai?" said Anirudh smiling at her.
"Bohot khush hun mai pati babu. Bohot acche hain aap. Aapki har baat manungi main" said Bondita smiling brightly. He now felt a bit relieved seeing her smile. He suddenly remembered something he wanted to tell her
"Tumne ye sab mujhe pehle kyun nahi bataya? Tum mujhe pehle bata deti toh hum milke iska pehle hi koi upay dhoondh lete na"
"Voh... main darr gayi thi, voh...aap..itna gussa karte ho issliye" she said hesitantly.
"Tumhe kya lagta hai mai hamesha gussa karta rehta hun kya? He asked a bit loudly.
And Bondita immediately replied pointing her finger towards him "Dekha abhi phir se gussa kia aapne. Chandalo jaisa gussa hai aapka, hamesha toh muh phulaye rakhte hain aap"
He wanted to speak something but then couldn't control his laughter at her words and seeing him she also started laughing. 'Well, She wasn't that wrong. He did have anger management issues' thought Anirudh to himself.
"Aur haan Bondita, Tumhe uss certificate ko kharab nahi karna chahiye tha na. Voh sab padhai likhai ka saaman hai aagese unn kagazon ko aur pustakon ko nahi chedna, thik hai? Unn sab mein maa Saraswati ka vaas hota hai, samjhi? He told her patiently.
"Lekin maine toh uss kagaz ko chua bhi nahi, muje kuch nahi pata woh kharab kaise hua, shotti" she said innocently.
He was a bit surprised. She had told this in the morning also, but nobody gave that much attention. "Bondita, jhooth matt bolo, jhooth bolna acchi baat nahi hai, galti ki hai toh maan lo, vaise bhi main tumhe uss baat ke liye maaf kar chuka hun" said Anirudh.
"Par main jhooth kyun boolun, agar galti ki hi nahi toh kyun maanu use? Apni maa ki kasam kha ke keh rahi hun, maine uss kagaz ko kharab nahi kia, main kabhi bhi aapke padhi likhai ke saaman ko haath lagati hun kya? Main toh uss maze ke paas gayi bhi nai"
she said in one breath.
He could see the honesty in her tone. And Bondita wouldn't lie using her mother's kasam ever. It was quite clear from her words that she was telling the truth. But then, there was definitely someone who was lying. Maybe someone deliberately did it to his certificate and had wrongly blamed Bondita for it. But the question was who? Baba? But baba rarely came here and why would he destroy the certificate knowing how important it was to him, did he hate Bondita so much? And he couldn't just blame his father like that.
He was feeling utter disgust at the person who had done it. 'Doing such a disgusting act and blaming an innocent child who could hardly defend herself. He will have to find out.
Yesterday when he saw the certificate, it was fine, then what went wrong?' He thought to himself.
"Accha, aaj subha se iss kamre mein tumhare alava aur koi aaya tha kya?" He enquired with her casually.
"Bass main aur pari didi hi the. Bohot acchi hai pari didi. Unhe kal meri samasya ke baare mein pata chala, toh bilkul nhi datan unhone mujhe, meri saari baat bhi suni unhone, aur kaha ki meri madad bhi karengi. Issliye subah yahan aayi thi voh, par uss Batuk ke vajah se mai pakdi gai" said Bondita never getting tired of praising her Pari didi.
Anirudh was taken aback. 'Mini ko ye sab kal hi pata tha? Use pata hai mai swachhata ko leke kitna gambhir hun, toh usne mujhe bataya kyun nahi, chupayi kyun yeh baat mujhse? Aur bass kamre mein vohi thi Bondita ke alawa. Kahin Mini ne toh...? Nahi nahi, kya soch rahe ho tum Anirudh, Mini aisa kyun karegi? Voh toh acchi tarah janti hai Barristry ka certificate kitna zaruri hai tumhare liye. Aur Bondita ki bhi itni dekh baal karti hai woh... Par pata toh lagana padega' he thought to himself.
"Chalo Bondita, abb soo jao, bohot raat hogai hai, hum kal baat karenge" said Anirudh to her. But she looked a bit hesitant. So he asked to her "Kya hua? Sona nahi hai?"
"Darr lag raha hai, phir maine bistar gila kardia toh?" she asked sadly.
"Toh hum kuch aur upay khoj lenge" he said genuinely.
"Pakka?" she asked making a baby face.
"Haan baba pakka. Aadat ko badalne mein thoda waqt toh lagta haina. Lekin tum aacha sochogi toh sab accha hi hoga. Aur haan yaad rahe, paani matt pina abb" he reassured her with a smile. He helped her adjusting her blankets and then walked away to his room after seeing that she had slept.
Morning
Bondita was sitting outside her house in the aangan looking gloomy. Mini came to the Roy chowdhury house and greeted her. Bondita immediately went and hugged her.
" Aap aagai Pari didi? Mai aap hi ke baare mein soch rahi thi" said Bondita sadly.
"Kya hua Bondita? Itni dukhi kyun lag rahi ho?" asked Mini
"Voh didi, aaj bhi mujse bistar gila hogaya, abb main apne Maa ke paas kaise jaaungi? Aur kisi ko baatane mein sharam aarahi hai. Issliye aapka intezaar kar rahi thi mai" said Bondita almost on the verge of tears.
Mini couldn't contain her happiness at this news. She really didn't need to do anything, all things were falling in place on their own. At this rate Bondita would be packing her bags in a week. He mentally patted herself for her brilliant plan of exposing Bondita in front of the family. But now she couldn't take any risk. She had to make sure Bondita is thrown out of the house, so she said "Toh isme itna dukhi kyun horahi ho tum. Bistar geela karti rahogi toh hi apni maa ke paas ja paogi na tum"
"Voh kaise?" asked a curious Bondita.
"Tumhe pata hai, Anirudh ne shart rakhi hai Binoy kaka ke saath ki 6 din mein tumhari aadat sudhaar dega voh, aur aisa nhi karpaya toh Binoy kaka tumhe tumhare maa ke paas bhej denge. Toh hui na ye acchi baat, toh tumhari aadat aise hi chalti rahi, toh bhej denge tumhe apni maa ke paas" said Mini excitedly.
"Lekin mein ye sab jaan bhuj ke thodi na karti hun. Aur pati babu ne kaha hai mujhse, ki aagar meri aadat sudhar gai toh maa ke paas rehne leke jaayenge woh mujhe" said Bondita happily.
"Arre tum uski baaton mein matt aao. Mujhe toh lagta hai ki Anirudh tumhe bilkul pasand hi nahi karta hai. Aur use tumhe apni maa ke paas bhejna hota toh kal hi nahi bhej deta? Mai jaisa keh rahin hoon vaisa karo, aur hamesha reh paogi tum apni maa ke paas" said Mini smiling evilly in her mind as she saw confusion across Bondita's face. This is what she wanted.
Bondita became thoughtful for a while hearing Mini's words but then said after a few moments " Nahi mai aisa nahi kar sakti. Maa kehti hai, ki jaan bhuj kar kisiko dukhi karna aur dhokha dena paap hota hai. Aur jab meri aadat sudhar jaegi toh khush hojaenge pati babu, tab unse kahungi ki meri maa ko hamesha ke liye mere paas leaaye. Thode gusse walen hain par acche hain pati babu" said Bondita, feeling happy and proud at her brilliant plan.
But Mini could see all her plans slipping away from her hands, but she somehow managed a smile. She was about to say something to Bondita when she was called by Trilochan kaka and Bondita ran inside the house.
"Kaise samjhaun mai isse, samajhti nahi ye ladki, par iske maa ke paas toh bhejke rahungi main ise. Aur yeh Anirudh, sabkuch bigaad diya usne, Maine jaise socha tha sabkuch vaise ho raha tha, Bondita ka yeh raaz sabke saamne leeyai main, Anirudh ka certificate tak kharab kia, phir bhi use koi fark nahi pada, phir bhi uss gavar ladki ko iss ghar mein rakhne pe tula hua hai. Vaise toh swachhta ke baare mein bhaashan deta rehta hai, socha tha ki uss ladki ke iss gandi aadat ke vajah se voh khud Bondita ko ghar se nikalega, lekin Anirudh toh jati hui Bondita ko vapas leeaya. Abb kya karun main" she said aloud angrily seeing all her plans failing.
"Bohot acchi dosti nibhayi tumne Mini" she heard Anirudh's voice from behind. She was so immersed in thoughts to that she didn't observe Anirudh approaching her. He had been gardening in the morning when he heard Bondita and Mini's conversation and he couldn't believe what he heard.
As for Mini, all colour had faded away from her face when she saw Anirudh standing in front of her, his hands folded across his chest. Anirudh's voice was calm, but seeing his face, she could tell he was seething with anger from inside.
