PV: Alia turned down Maddock Horror Comedy due to date issues

A source close to the actress tells us, "Alia met Dinu and he offered her the movie, which has her playing the main lead. She had initially verbally agreed to come on board but now, the whole Coronavirus outbreak has put everything in a state of disarray. Alia and her team looked at every possible way of accommodating Maddock Films' next but they couldn't find a window and she had to say no to it." On the work front, she is extremely occupied with her work commitments. The Kalank actress has given over 120 days for the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi and a considerable portion is still left to be shot. Apart from that, a little bit of Sadak 2 also needs to be filmed once situation gets back to normal, followed by a bit of patchwork on Brahmastra and SS Rajamouli's RRR. Then, she has to now figure out her new dates for Karan Johar's Takht which also faced a huge brunt because of the severe Corona outbreak in Italy, where it was initially planned to roll in March.

The horror comedy is said to be directed by AndhaDhun writer Yogesh Chandekar who will also be making his debut with this project. Stree director Amar Kaushik is the creative producer on the film, and they all wanted Alia because they felt she suits the character to the T. Unlike her other films, this is more breezy and fun. Alia had also liked the whole idea and apparently agreed verbally. But now, with the date issues, she has politely declined the offer. We hope the union of the actor and the banner happens soon!

2013? Alia hasnt dethroned that yet. She still hasnt gotten that hype

But forget it, she's become too old now. 28 is ancient on these forums. Priyanka, Deepika, Katrina were way ahead at that age in popularity

It's weird how both u and TwinklingMoon , SRK fans prefer Aloo over Deepu .

This is about dates,not Alia in particular..No one can give or get dates from anyone today..everyone,from cast,crew,DOP,Director have no idea ,which set to go on.

Lets take the Biggest film RRR ..lets say they manage to arm twist/buy dates of all the cast/crew,build the sets and start the shoot by the end of the year..One of them gets the virus..The entire team will self quarantine.

This is over and above,distributors having no money to buy films,not expecting returns ,as footfalls will be lesser and multiple backlog films releasing next year,producers neck deep in debt over sets constructed,interests and salaries to be paid..

Isn’t this to early to say anything about any movie and their shooting dates.

No one actually really knows what and when the next step will be. Actors have releases comeing up for which they need to promote and can’t shoot. so all these dates are a mess and unless the first movies ain’t releasing and to see if audience even ready to go out an watch a movie there is no way they are able to give now dates.

In her case it might be some other reason than date issues right now.

Rumors were floating after Stree blockbuster success,she rejected Maddock when their films are flopped.
