DSDT was not a runaway hit like N3, Swaragini or Shakti, IMMJW. It could have sustained for two years with a decent end subject to the main actors staying back.
Now every channel and PH works on a budget which is directly related to trps. Rashmi and Sid were more expensive in comparison to others charactets including Bhasin. I heard she was paid only 20000 to 30000 per episode, which makes her more feasible commercially. Its not the bias but trp hungry channel and PH who change tracks to sustain and rake in money.
The same happened with Na Ana is Desh Mein 2, Avika Gor was preferred over Meghna Malik, even IMMJ when Nia and Sonarika joined Aalisha Panwar left in the last phase.
Its possible that Rashmi's fees were a hindrance and unlike Uttaran she wasn't given the kind of role which was expected. In such cases so much exposure on colors is like getting everything on a platter
Some actors leave without making any noise but actors like Meghna Malik and Rashmi Desai took up the issue with Media who added fuel to the fire.
And in BB13 Rashmi Desai and Shukla are settling scores with each other.
