Ranbir:
He came back from office, hoping that not seeing Mr decent Rishi and Miss lecture Prachi will calm down his nerves. How dare she say that Rishi is better that him. She really needs an eye check-up. The idea itself was insane, may be she needs a brain check up too thrown along with her eye check up.
Dida was happy to see her favourite boy come around earlier than she was expecting. "Mera puttar" se exclaimed. "Aaj jaldi aa gaya, mujhe to laga aaj to bahut kaam hoga". "Tha dida", Ranbir drawled, "mann nahi kiya bus office me rehne ka". His Dida, as usual, jumped in her hyper mode, and exclaimed "Oh waheguru, tabiyat to changee hai na puttar, chehra bhi utra hua lag raha, dekhne de mujhe bukhar to nahi ho gaya na". Before he can say anything, she was already touching his forehead to check for temperature.
"Nai dida, I am alright, just tired, I am going to my room to rest for a while" he said and started moving towards his room. He wanted to go in the sanctuary and peace of his room. There was anyways too many emotions running in his heart, and he himself was confused about what was happening to him. Why is he getting so bothered, why is he feeling such a rage inside him. He had no answers to his questions, and he just wanted to get away from his own thoughts.
Ranbir entered the washroom, and thought of taking a quick bath. The idea of hot water running over him was soothing, and very much needed. He opened the shower, and got in it. The warm water really uplifted his mood. He closed his eyes, and let the water run over him. Ahhh..this is bliss. He ran his fingers across his wet hair, and suddenly, there was a flash of image in his mind:Prachi twirling in the rain, pure joy and innocence on her face.
He opened his eyes with a jolt. What is happening to him, he wondered. Why is he thinking about Prachi? She is irritating, boring and so full of herself- he hates her. She riles him up like no one else does, and she makes him feel things no one else have ever made him feel. Like right now, she was making him feel a rage of an intensity he has never felt before. Again, the image of Prachi laughing with Rishi, Rishi telling her about shifting to her room, and Prachi saying she finds Rishi good looking made Ranbir curl his fingers in a tight fist. He banged his fist on the wall, closed off the shower and went for the towel.
Ranbir put on his most comfortable t-shirt and pajama and went to bed. He closed his eyes and tried his best to avoid any thoughts. He wanted to end this long bad day. Tomorrow is gonna be better. Think about Rhea, he coerced his mind and heart. She is so hot, she is so beautiful. Everyone is gonna be a jealous of him for landing the hottest girl in the college as his girlfriend. They would be the most good looking couple in the college, they are so meant to be. Suddenly, there was a flash of Prachi, applying medicine on his hand, and speaking with an adorable expression on her face. No, no..don't think about Prachi again, Rhea, Rhea, just think about Rhea.
He never realized when he drifted into a deep sleep. He could feel the light breeze and drizzle on his face. It was raining, and it was strangely peaceful and calming. The raindrops was working like a magic on him, making him smile. He slowly raised his hands, raising his face towards the sky, and feeling the beautiful rain. Suddenly, he felt someone near him. Oh, she is here, he smiled to himself. He said "I was waiting for you, why do you make be wait so much" he said in an exasperated tone. Her tinkling laugh reached his ears, and he again felt a smile on his face. He raised his hands, and pulled her in his arms. Her body fit in his arms perfectly, and he buried his face in her hair. He couldn't help but blush, and feel like the luckiest man alive. He slowly broke the hug, but his attention now has moved to something else. He could feel a fire ignite into his body, and before he could comprehend anything, he was slowly gravitating towards her lips, closing the gap between them. He could feel the current between them, and gradually started closing his eyes. Suddenly, she pushed him away with a laugh, and started moving away. He held her hand, and she turned. "Prachi", he said aloud and got up.
