Hellos people!
Khamma Ghani!
Welcome to the short story of chaahat! I hope you would like it. Do give it a try...

Chaahat!

His father came to know about his over the top attachment and affection towards Ajabde. Ajabde Punwar, daughter of a chief who came under jurisdiction of Mewar. A samant putri.

Rana Udaisingh wanted to marry his first born, a crowned prince of Mewar, Pratap Singh, to a princess of their level. He didn't care if that was a mere alliance than a marriage.

He reminded Pratap of his duties towards his mother land and people, their wishes, their happiness and more. He should forget about all the fake attraction he had for that girl. Pratap kept quite. Not a word. He knew his role well. But he loved her too.

When he told her about his one way conversation with his father, more with a king, she listened silently. Of course he expected her to react. Ajabde was not a girl to tolerate anything wrong.

She respected parents and families more like God. Their desires and happiness was her all time priority. She loved their people too. He knew her well. She always stood for the right. Be it for someone or truth, for values or love.

She had warned him about this situation, way before their attachment grew towards love. She was a samant putri. He was to be the next king. He didn't consider this at all. He loved her. Her soul, not her status.

But it was time, to let his family know about that too. He just couldn't confess to his father, that they were not wrong. Their relationship won't ruin anything. But he didn't speak up. Not for love. Not for them!

"Hamare kuch kehne se baat bigad jaati Ajabde. Aap to jaanti hai Hume." He blurted out, facing her with furrowed brows.

"Dhanyawad kijiye hamara, humne baat taal di..." He reasoned, pacing here and there.

She was still silent, making him restless. He knew he missed the opportunity. To have her officially in his family.

He was the one, making the first move, telling her about his feelings. She didn't even accept it at first. But he knew she felt the same. May be more. Her eyes, her care, her body language, had shown it all.

Ajabde feared dreams. Dreams those were meant to be broken. She brought the realisation points, how it wasn't possible. How she was not a royal like them. How their statuses didn't match. She never believed status over love but never blamed their parents or society for it.

Today Mewar's king spoke against a mere commoner girl. He didn't care to know much about someone, his son was in love with. He thought, she would snatch away his son, their commander. Away from his duties.

He had to assure him otherwise. He had to convince him, she'll support him in anyway, she was a rajputani too. He had to ask for a chance. To at least prove their faith and love. But he didn't. He stopped in front of her.

"Hum jaante hai yeh sahi moka tha Dajiraj see baat karne ka." He made her look up to him.

"Woh aapko jaante nahi thik see, iss liye esa keh rahe... Vishwaas kijiye jab woh aapse milenge, aapko jaanenge, woh khud aapko apni bahu banane aayenge"

She just stared in his brown eyes. A great warrior, a humble prince, an ideal son and an honest lover was struggling with his emotions, actions and opportunities to sync in his life.

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"Kuch to kahiye Ajabde, chahe to daantiye hume. Aaj aapki khamoshi khaa rahi hai hume..." She slightly raised her hand to his cheek.

"Jab humne aapko apne Dil ki baat keh di, tab b aap khamosh the. Aaj jab Dajiraj se apne Dil ki baat nahi keh paaye... Tab b aap khamosh Kaise reh sakte hai..." His voice grew deeper as his head lowered a bit.

"Swikaar"

That was all she spoke.

Acceptance? Oh! He stood silent, as if accepting whatever his father told him. She's silent, accepting his take? No... He didn't accept to lose her. Or did he??? Ugh! This is not good.

"Ajab..." He whispered over her face. The intensity his gaze held, made Ajabde to finally let out her heart!

"Pehli baar" she whispered back. "Pehli baar... Humne kisi ke liye kuch aisa mehsoos Kiya hai!" She blushed pink.

"Pehli baar... hume khud se zyada kisi aur ki chinta hone lagi!
Pehli baar... Kisi ki muskuraahat se hamari muskuraahat judne lagi!" A beautiful small smile curved up his lips too.

"Pehli baar... Kisi ko takleef mein dekh hamari aankho se aansu behne lage!" He stopped, locking his eyes with her.

"Pehli baar... Kisi ke sapne hamare sapne ban gaye!
Pehli baar... Kisi ke darr mein hum himmat ban gaye!
Pehli baar... Kisi ke sath rehna hamari prathmikta ban gayi!
Pehli baar... Kisi ki zaroorat mein hum Ghar banne lage!" She breathed out dreamily in a go. Her heartbeats going heavy as he stepped closer to her.

"Pehli baar..." She stammered a little "humne.. kisi kl apne itne karib aane diya!" His heart beated faster in anticipation. If he knew this to be the result of his wait... He would have never complained to listen to her.

"Pehli baar... Kisi se mann se itna prem karne lage!"

She said in a very soft voice, her cheeks crimson red. Her confessing for the first time made his heart flatter. He was so overwhelmed with joy, he just pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her tight.

"Aapne Hume yakeen dilaya, Ke aisa bhi koi ho sakta hai... Jo Hume humse zyada prem Kar sakta hai!" She said after a while blushing hard, still in his arms, his smile as beautiful as ever.

"Hamari manzil mein sath de sakta hai!" She smiled too as he held her hand.

"Apni Puri Zindagi hum kisi na kisi ka hath pakadte aaye hai..." She said dreamily staring at his hand "Koi esa bhi ho sakta hai... Jo hamara hath thamna chahe!" She held him back.

"Aapne woh sab satya mein Kar ke dikhaya, jiski shayad humne kabhi kalpana bhi nahi ki thi...!" She looked at him with his almond shaped black eyes.

"Dhanyavad ji!

"Aapne sahi kaha... Aapko dhanyavad to kehna chahiye!" She smile, standing straight, as he shook head, unsure of where she was going.

"In sab ke baavjud, kuch mushkilo se hum darr nahi sakte...
Pariksha ki ghadi mein pichhe nahi hat sakte..."

He opened his mouth but nothing came out.

"Jise paane ki kabhi khwaahish bhi nahi ki thi... Ab yaha tak aa kar unhe kho nahi sakte..."

His heart missed a beat, at a mere thought of losing her.

"Kehte hai... Jinhe Aap chaho, unse zyada Jo aapko chahe, unka sath kabhi nahi chhodna chahiye!" She smiled soft but his breath got deep.

"Aapne Hume woh chahat saugaat mein di!" She blushed as he pulled her closer.

"Aur pehli baar... Humne uss chahat ki aur kadam badhaaye!"

"Par Zindagi ne sikhaya, jo sirf aapko chahe unse nahi, Jo aapko chahat ke sath apnana chahe... Unke sath hamesha rehna chahiye!"

He included family. He included love. She was the chaahat. And they were the life. He almost forgot to breath, his heart beating heavily as understood what was the point.

"Sirf chaahat hi kaafi nahi hoti... Jigar bhi chahiye... Swikaar ke liye!"

They needed to accept. She needed to accept his duties, he needed to accept her responsibilities, their families needed to accept their love. And how the acceptance became the most important connect in their lives.

"Hume aapka sath chahiye Ajab!" He almost whispered, his voice chocking as his grip on her hand tightened.

"Hum humesha aapke sath hai Kunwarsa!" She resonated with confidence.

Her warmth gave him all the strength he needed. His breath gave her the faith and hope. Their eyes accepting the battle ahead.

A battle of love with the loved ones. And they won the battle with love. They asked for a chance. It took time. But prejuditions did change to accept the love.

Simplicity of Ajabde appealed to Ranaji the most. Their honesty, trust and dedication won the heart of a father. Their faith, chivalry and patriotism won the heart of a king.  Rana Udaisingh himself asked for a hand of the daughter of Bijoliya to make her, his own daughter in law.

The chaahat, a pure love, gifted Ranaji with a loving daughter, people of Mewar were gifted with a caring Kunwaranisa, their queen to be. But most importantly Pratap and Ajabde were gifted with a love of their life.

"Na taaj se ho, na raaj se ho
Sabse badi daulat, chahat Jaha!
Jis Mann me chaahat basti...
Zindagi mein ho raahat waha!"
