Raman withdrew his hand from Ishita’s and zoned out into his thoughts. Ishita waved her hand in front of him which broke his trance. A concerned Ishita asked “kya hua Raman?”
Raman fumbled with his words. For the first time today he felt burdened at having a past that would not let him move forward in life. Hesitatingly he said, “Ishita mera ek 8 saal ka beta hai, Adi, jo filhaal Dehradunke kisi boarding school mein padhta hai.” He almost choked with emotion “woh mujhse nafrat karta hai Ishita. Shagun ne usse mere khilaaf itna bharkaya hai kewoh mujhe iss kaabil bhi nahi samjhta ke Papa keh sake. In pichle 6 saalon meinyeh saare jazbaat maine apne andar dafan kar rakhe teh magar ab aur bardaashtnahi hota. Sabar tut’tha ja raha hai aur taqleefein barti jaa rahi hain…”
Ishita was bowled over by Raman’s sincerity and promised to herself that she would never let their parents’ decision be proved wrong “main harr haal mein aapko support karungi gi Raman. Ab past ko bhulaaneka waqt aagaya hai. Aap apne saare dard bhula dijiye aur bas iss yakeen se aagebadhi yeh ke agar aapka pyaar sacha hai toh Adi aapke paas kicha chala ayega.”Raman looked at her in gratitude and couldn’t help but take her in a hug. He was feeling at peace with himself after years today.
