I hope they can get Karan for a small cameo as well. 

And about references, then the new lead pairing- the character sketch seems to be quite similar to how Armaan and Riddhima were in the beginning of the show and how Armaan was carefree but caring and Ridhima was the one who would follow rules to the T, it’s quite predictable that seeing them Dr. Shashank will be reminded of his daughter and son-in-law. 

On second thoughts they can also bring Sunaina (dr. Anjali Gupta) as one of the management people
