Sequel to the first edition, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan features Ayushmann Khurrana in a gay character for the first time ever! While the first film revolved around the sensitive topic of erectile dysfunction, the second edition is a gay love story starring the Badhaai Ho actor in the lead role.

Ever since the filmmakers released the trailer announcing the sequel, the curiosity among fans was on a rise trying to guess who would be playing the actor’s love interest in the movie. However, the long suspense comes to an end while we disclose the name of the actor who will be romancing Ayushmann in the film.

As per a report in BollywoodLife, actor Jitendra Kumar, popularly known as Jeetu, who has been a part of various online comedy sketches is likely to be paired opposite Ayushmann in Aanand L Rai’s Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan.

"The character is of a small town boy and the makers wanted to take an actor who can pull off the character with ease. The makers wanted a relatively fresh face and after doing the rounds of auditions, Jitendra fitted all the bills. Although he has not signed on the dotted line yet, he is the one," a source close to the media portal quoted.

Jitendra has been a popular face in several digital series like Permanent Roommates, TVF Pitchers and the recent hit Kota Factory. Jeetu also made his movie debut with Gone Kesh this year in March alongside Shweta Tripathi.

While talking about the film, the Ayushmann said in an interview, "It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face."

He further added, "It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It is a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. It is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema."

Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, the film is slated to go on the floors by August 2019.
