The Shah family is no ordinary family, but one that comes with a known line of descent and ancestry within their community. It stands out as a fine example of the elders, rearing their off spring with the correct social etiquette , traditional cultural norms and above all firm  religious values.

This episode shows scenes where  family members  take into consideration issues  about the kind of nurturing given to children  during the  formative years.  I find that elders are also anxious that their child rearing skills may be questioned. When Rubina approaches Ghazala after Saltanat has been accused by Kainat for tampering in her engagement. One of Rubina’s concerns is that due to children’s recent  behaviour , their parents rearing skills are being questioned.  Rubina is unhinged to such a degree that she loops Ghazala into a knee jerk reaction of getting Saltanat and Zaroon bound in marriage as soon as possible, as circumstances are changing rapidly..

Zainab literally bends Kainat’s elbow in getting an apology out of her to Saltanat ,is a scene where I am sure  Zainab wonders, this girl shows her up . Zainab also cries out in frustration at Kainat that it despairs her to see that Kainat seems to be unable to differentiate between  who is family and who is not.  For Kainat  she too can see like Saltanat  that both sisters are family.  But the difference is where Saltanat willingly gives up her love Zaroon; out of respect  on Zainab’s behest. Kainat refuses to see her good deed. She only sees the man was meant for her, and Saltanat being family ,came and virtually usurped her off that right!

Have to say, that Zainab  as an elder,  at least tries to set up a peace meeting between the two girls. Although Zainab also has her own reasons,where she would rather stay on the good side of Saltanat  for fear of being exposed  by her before Mainjaan. As Zainab, largely put Saltanat up to stopping Humza ‘s engagement and veering Kainat towards  Zaroon. Zainab facilitating the meeting between Kainat and Saltanat ,also gives Saltanat a deserved  chance to let off steam at Kainat for the public humiliation she orchestrated against her.  So an important part of sound rearing lies also in the fact that elders, take an active role insorting differences between the aggrieved parties.

One more positive thing that comes out of the Kainat apology scene is that Saltanat has clarified her position about what she feels for Zaroon.In fact all three Zainab, Kainat,and Saltanat  are clear that both girls love Zaroon. The situation as it stands, is that both will have an open contest for Zaroon’s love. Kainat’s forced apology, clearly without remorse, her smug defiant smile speaks of her confidence, that all know ,that Zaroon loves Saltanat  ,thus Kainat doesn’t have a chance in  hell! For his love! But then the new Kainat will make her own chance in heaven! in getting Zaroon’s love!  

Talking about the quality of parenting skills, we see the money minded Mamoon Shah’s family.  Mamoon’s keeps on hold!  Rubina’s frantic plea to Ghazala regards,putting up a hasty marriage between Zaroon and Saltanat. Mamoon weighs the situation in a business like manner. He  shall wait to see which way the wind turns..which girl, Kainat or Saltanat ? Zaroon marries.For Mamoon his son’s happiness  is secondary,what is primary is which out of the two holds a better chance for his son to claim the rights to the dynasty!

 As for Mamoon’s son Zaroon.. he too thinks like a businessman. Believes not in wasting, neither time nor opportunities in hand! The scene between the two turtle doves, Saltanat and Zaroon, shows, Their love  is again, symbolized by a stray feather,  light, free, spiritual, almost  inspiring. A  stray feather!  held and kept as a treasured possession!  Zaroon’s words are all aimed to woo his Sufiyana love.. All his words to Saltanat are spoken to cajole her into declaring her love for him. His reference  about the  uncertainty of his  staying  in her land any longer, is all geared to ,tease Saltanat to express , if she wants him to  stay for her.  Saltanat as usual gives him a round about answer. For she remembers the promise she made to Zainab to help Kainat obtain,Zaroon and retain her life..

This conversation in a way helps Saltanat to conclude, that yes she too loves Zaroon! What is noticeable in this scene , is that Zaroon never tries to initiate peace talks between the two sisters, to clear the air between them. Rather he wants them apart for some reason? That’s why in the starting scene of the episode, he repeats, the slap incident and  instils in her that its best she remembers the incident , of what that thankless girl did to her after all she’s done for Kainat. I mean he could have let the matter rest but he did not! far from being a peace maker this Zaroon is.. family breeding or does he have an only child syndrome.. like Kainat! and Sultanat  I dare say!

Good breeding is also, when elders of the family apologize to their children for  thier mistake. The highlight of the episode is Mainjaan asking a sincere pardon from Saltanat for slapping her in public. Mainjaan’s apology contrasts with Kainat’s. Her apology was forced and insincere. I suppose she does away with the hypocrisy! As she will  wage war against Saltanat! Mainjaan’s is heart felt, plus he wants to know the truth behind Kainat’s accusation. Here again, Saltanat throws light on the way Kainat was reared.. to remain silent and comply. Whereas the truth of the matter is Kainat herself didn’t want to go ahead into an alliance with Humza. Mainjaan takes a just decision. Kainat’s engagement will be on hold, on the condition, that she herself will come to him and reject the proposal. Mamoon also tells Ghazala to keep Zaroon’s marriage on hold regards which daughter? his delay is greed motivated ,while Mainjaan’s  decision about keeping Kainat ‘s engagement on hold, is about giving his grand daughter, the right to give consent or reject! Fine breeding and practice of good family and faith values.

Goes without saying that Kainat actually moans none asked her about her views! Again  its Saltanat  who convey's  her rejection to Mainjaan. 

 What is noteworthy is, how Saltanat only spoke what was asked , and shelved Zainab’s part in the plan.. but for how long can the lid be kept on Zainab’s involvement before its out??

We are left with the question will Kainat in person reject Humza’s proposal before Mainjaan? I don’t think she will, She will leave this niggling issue  hanging in mid air.. as something for the family to squirm over, and be occupied with. Kainat meanwhile, will find ways, to make Nadeem fall from grace ,in Mainjaan’seyes!

The precap shows .. Kainat lurking in the shadows, smirking.. while Mainjaan  catches Nadeem devouring noodles fed to him by his darling daughter Saltanat!  There! thinks Kainat . two birds killed with one stone !

So Miajaan apologizes to Saltanat.. inspite of the fact that he still thinks Sultanat is wrong, yet his consicience tells him that he was wrong in raising his hand and also that he hasn’t raised his hand ever on anyone in his life.. quite liked this bit.. I do like the old man.. the man definitely is striving to gain the middle ground for his old-school thoughts and the new nasl as he puts it.. hope he is not made a sacrificial lamb in future like Zainab was.. this man still does hold the power of dargah and may he judge wisely and pass on the baton to the right person.. it isn’t just about the family wealth.. it is about providing service to their community.. 

I do understand that making Zainab the sacrificial lamb was necessary.. they really needed to fix sultanat’s characterization.. 

Hammie, you are right, they need the track running.. which is why Zainab continues to plead Kainat’s case For Zaroon to Sultanat inspire of knowing that Sultanat genuinely loves Zaroon.. did Zainab not put forth her plea only because Sultanat had rejected Zaroon on her own or else she wouldn’t have.. but all that is forgotten.. 

Miajaan will not let kainaat and Humza get married if sultanat can get Kainaat to admit to him in person , her refusal..  Zaroon admits he wants Kainaat and Humza marriage to take place.. sultanat is going to act against his interests so will he prevent Sultanat from winning.. For Zaroon, one side he claims that the Kainaat orchestrated slap has caused a wound.. so will he make Sultanat win and prove herself right thus,  absolving her of the allegations that were put on her and her upbringing.. or he will continue to further his interest in getting Humza and Kainaat together thus removing the thorn in his and sultanat’s union..

yes he  pointed out he was provoked.. his mistake was that he at  that point in time lost the plot! for which he says sorry.. yes me too am fond of the old soul, he does command respect. Yes he wants to himself  informed about how  young new age minds think. Also he recognises the importance of the up coming generation..

yes its  this that I query would Mamoon even know the needs of the community around him.. can he relate to the masses.. Mainjaan  has stood the test of time.. his service to people to is looked up  too..

 yes and so this ongoing zid  games between the two will continue.. not forgetting that Kainat's zid will be to ensure, that he that was meant for her, goes not to Saltanat!

Zaroon..will have to think of removing the thorn in his  side..namely Kainat.. but one thing , he made clear in this episode is, that if he stays, it will not be for Kainat for sure! so redeeming Saltanat's image  he will put aside, for the moment. He has no worries about Saltanat.. she has virtually told him he means the world to her! But on second thoughts, he is unaware of the oath Saltanat has given to Zainab!.. so should be interesting to watch, Saltanat will try to fix him with  Kainat! while Zaroon will try to fix Kainat with Humza! Phew!!! some activity!
