Remember that this show is set in the late 19th or early 20th century. How refreshing to see the message of husband and wife sharing house,old chores! India has always been such a patriarchal society and I see that the message has still not got through to many parts of the country . Living outside India, it is normal for us to see spices sharing housework but whenever I go back home I see that the kitchen is still the women’s domain
