Yash Tonk and Daniel Craig!

U must be wondering how they can possibly share the same space! Well, here goes:

Do u remember the bad press poor Daniel Craig got when it was first announced that he was going to be the new Bond? He was too short, too blond, too broad, couldn't drive, swim, run..(well, that's a bit of an exaggeration on my part!). Many Bond loyalists, including poor ole Pierce Brosnon, felt he was the worst choice...I felt the same too!

But, look what happened! We all had to eat our words....and how! Casino Royale was the biggest grosser ever of the year and the best and most money spinning Bond movie ever. I would love to watch it again and again!

Which brings me to Yash Tonk...or is it Tank?? (Ha, ha!)

We gave him a hard time on our forum...me included! I like him fine but couldn't see him in IQ's place. We said he was too old, too short, not goodlooking or sexy enough....even said his voice wasn't a patch on IQ's. I remember saying something abt his forehead as well, hoping that they would be sensible enough to cover most of it.

Then, see what happened? Our world didn't stop in it's axix last night. We went on gamely to watch the show. Today, there are many topics on how good Yash was and that he didn't disappoint. Everyone's ready to give him time to connect with Gauri...that didn't happen in an instant with IQ either as someone, very intelligently, pointed out in one of the posts.

So, now do you see why YT and DC share the same space? I feel Yash will surprise us the way DC did and do a wonderful job. Afterall, they are actors and they are in this profession for a reason. The marked difference in Yash in KAA when we all expected a reprisal of Kesar has taken us all by surprise.

This is a lesson to all of us not to have preconceived notions about people and assume things!

Thought I'd share my thoughts with you. As a very chastened viewer who has learnt her lesson well, I hope to read  your reactions to my comparison.

Well said, Pippa!! Judging a book by its cover is not a sensible decision to make. From day one, I have retained my views that I will first see how Yash performs in few weeks time and will then comment on whether he was a good replacement or not. Yesterday's episode didn't make me cringe to my seat. It was bearable and I actually liked the way his entry was portrayed. He looked like a man who has lost everything and has nothing to look forward to. Even though that was the role's demand to be shown like a man in pain and agony, it actually gave Yash a nice platform to appeal to his viewers indirectly to give him a chance in the very least. I've seen what happens when people assume things and judge each other on appearances...So I try to refrain from such attitude. Hopefully, like u pointed out, good things will come our way and KAA will rock the joint again..

I miss Iqbal terribly. But his exit was his personal decision and I totally respect it. On one hand, I wish and secretly hope for his return one day, I know in my heart how unfair that would be to Yash by then. So leaving all preconceived notions behind, I am going to watch KAA for Pallavi's sake from now onwards and to see if Yash is able to grab my attention or not. I'll take it gradually and slowly from there. As for Iqbal, wish him the best for future and hope to see him back on T.v sooner than later 😊.

Vry well said pippa n sana dii..yash tonk shd b given a chance to prove himself...jus imagine ..he must have been in such a great amnt of pressure when they asked him to replace IQ.Specially when kaa was in one of da top positions bcoz of iq n pallavi's chemistry..Its obvious dat he will take some time to recreate da same magic..although it wont b as gud as it was..but still.....*sigh*..Lets wait n watch 😛
