I think the writers had no actual plan for Anurag's plan. They just addded that line so that the viewers don't get put off completely by his stupidity
I can't understand how this guy can still smirk and enjoy Pre's game after putting her through so much pain. Makes him look insensitive to her pain. Let him enjoy the cat and mouse game but at least give us some scenes or monologues showing his guilt for making her behave this way.
