mala Paul is currently basking in the success of director Ramkumar's Ratsasan, in which she was paired opposite Vishnu Vishal. The actress has a slew of films - Adho Andha Paravai Pola, Aadai and Aadujeevitham - lined up for release.
Last year, she was seen in Susi Ganesan's Thiruttu Payale 2, which did average business at the box office.
In an interview to a Tamil magazine, she revealed that Thiruttu Payale 2 would have worked if it had a bigger star as the hero.
Thiruttu Payale 2 starred Bobby Simhaa and Prasanna in the lead roles. Amala said, "Kollywood allots big budget only for commercial films. Bollywood film industry is straightforward that way. When compared to Bollywood, Kollywood is fake. They keep churning out the same films. Times have changed but our industry has not kept up with it. We need to support good films. But, here, they support only mass films."
She went on to add, "In that sense, if a leading hero had done Thiruttu Payale 2, then it would have been a box-office success. The film did not have commercial elements. If it had more commercial aspects, then it could have been celebrated more."
Amala Paul is currently shooting for Aadai, directed by Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame.
