Understanding friendships!

There were lot of question on Setu's friendship in last few episodes, I thought I would try to understand her and write about friendship bonds in the show

1. Palak-Setu:

When you decide to jump into the well, there are some friends who will advise you not to do it, who will try everything to stop you. But then there is another category. There is that one friend who will hold your hand and jump with you. Setu is that friend of Palak and it is same for Palak. Setu stood by Palak in all her right, wrong, stupid and irrational decision.

In Palak's marriage decision, she stood by her. Many times we fail to do right things, take right actions but that time intentions matter. Setu always wanted Palak to be happy. There are many girls who leave their first love and get married. They do lead happy and satisfied life later. If after some years, Palak had become happy with her life, Setu did not want her to look back and regret that Palak did not enjoy her wedding. Setu did not care for Naman's past because she too had past. She could connect to Naman. She thought if she can deserve a guy like Rohit after her past, Naman also deserves Palak. At some point, she might have loved Kabir too but she was betrayed. She then found a wonderful guy like Rohit. According to her Kabir insulted her and Ritiwik too insulted Palak. She believed, Palak too will be happy just like her

One's friendship should not be questioned if they unite their friend with the lover. If we go back and remember, Palak was also not keen to unite Rohit-Setu when they broke up after the engagement. She was going back to Mumbai. She said she doesn't want to get into this and Setu deserves better. This is the most realist approach friends take in real life as well. It was Ritiwk who forces Palak to stay back.

Both of these girls are very practical, rational, intelligent and realist. They don't have fairy tale definition of love. They will be with each other in every right or wrong decision. They know what they expect from their friendship and they are happy with it.

2. Rohit-Ritiwk-Aman

Both the guys are impulsive, emotional but are different from each other. Rohit is very neutral friends. He gets angry fast and cools down too. He will sit on his drunk friends, he will tell him he should marry his sis even if his sis is into him, he will help his friend to talk to his gf on her wedding day But at the same time, his approach is kind of passive. He gives space to Ritiwik and believes time will take care of things. Ritwik who will sit on the road with his drunk friend, who will be always supporting him. He could easily forgive Ritiwik even when Ritwik betrayed his sister and humiliated his family in front of everyone.

Aman is the most balanced friend. He understands emotions but uses his rational approach to handle the situation. He is like a guide to Ritwik. He has all the qualities of Mamta.

And then we have Ritiwk. He is extremely emotional, passionate, aggressive in love as well as in friendship. He takes those extreme steps for his friends. He went all the way to the airport to stop Palak to save Rohit-Setus marriage. He is an idealist. Every relationship is pure for him and that's why the betrayals break him hard. Rohit-Setu marriage has become the goal of his life at some point. These people have epic friendship and love stories.
