Bepannah~ My thoughts ~ep 104. 9.8.18 Her name means peace.
Being together gives both a sense of inner contentment, a serenity that brings out the state of harmony, friendship ,love that exists between. Zoya like always puts both her life and honour in his hands. Their seat belts, speak of the gentle discipline of decency that remains between them in the privacy of Adi's car. For it is this being at peace with each other that guides the rush of passion that love is often equated with. Adi holding the steering indicates that as a man, honouring her, not taking advantage of her drunken state is the need of this delicate hour. The onus of taking Zoya home safely even in a vulnerable state, turns into a duty which lies heavily upon his moral shoulders Her intoxicated smiles and Arjun's bid of confessing his love before Zoya, makes the terribly shy Adi speak the magic words. That he loves her immensely! before Zoya. His words meet with the Zoya's content drunken slumber. But for Adi, he gets the weight off his heart. As for Zoya, the rest of the world may pass into nothingness as long as Adi is beside her!
Within the episode, Adiya's serenity in love, contrasts against, the robbed peace of Arjun and Noor. No recent news from their siblings; Zoya's drink spiked by Noor raises insecurity in Arjun. However Noor remains the incurable optimist who believes that all will be well with Adi and Zoya. Here Noor, not only puts Arjun's mind at peace, but she also upholds her faith in Aditya's reliability of character.
What struck me in this episode also, is how the concept of being conscious and unconscious in the mind is treated. It is assumed that people are less aware of what's going within and around them in a state of unconsciousness. Thus their preceptive, cognitive alertness and ability to judge issues may appear impaired. This seems hazy in drunken Zoya's case. She may not be deemed quite clear about happenings around her. Yet Zoya senses Adi beside her, around her person, even in her semi conscious, non-alert frame of mind. Even in her accidental and unwitting, drunken stupor, Zoya is not oblivious of her complete trust in her best friend Adi. Whether she is conscious or unconscious, being alone with Adi in the dead of night, leaves no effect upon her faith in the man's nobility and integrity. as she has nothing to hide. Adi is her best friend, who she wants beside her till eternity.
I would say, that not only Zoya is intrepid in her leanings towards Adi ,but Adi too since his realization of loving Zoya is less fearful of people's warped judgments towards their bonding. Both brave their pure, clean unblemished emotions towards each other. As truth exposes, while falsehood scurries around to hide deceptions. Which brings me to the unconscious Sakshi.
Sakshi's play at being unconscious is calculated and premediated. She intends to flee the hospital to escape from Anjana. Her conscious effort fails as Sakshi is caught out by her captor! No surprise Sakshi covers her real self by a blanket. She hides some untold secrets. So does her captor Anjana.
At times truth needs to be provided cover, till it matures to reveal itself fully before the world. Arjun and Noor, are the conscious buffer for Zoya and Adi's progressing love.
Adi's heart warming conscious effort of delivering Zoya safely to the sanctuary of her bedroom is a statement of deep commitment not only towards Zoya but her fathers honour too. The scene brings out more of Adi's respect for women. The manner in which he takes off her sandals, brings out his sense of humble service towards Zoya. To ease and render her comfortable is his concern, not being alone with a drunk Zoya in her bedroom. His covering her body with a blanket, shows his conscious effort of showing respect for her personal ,rather vulnerable space. Adi is conscious that he also upholds Noor s trust that he will take care of her Appi!
Zoya's semi- consciousness turns practical acts of Adi freeing her from irritating pieces of jewellery ,into a breath-taking sublime scene where the groom takes his brides jewellery off to celebrate the bridal night! However the purity of their emotions reigns supreme, as Adi the true man emerges as one who respects a woman's virtue far more than his carnal needs. His emotional and mental discipline puts his pure love on a much higher level than ordinarily found. Even her semi oblivious presence, calms his mind ,body and soul. The door bell! checks his tender motion of moving the tendril of hair from her forehead! His looking over his shoulder, shows awareness of trespassing on another's domain! Although he was not a thief! Adi is conscious that he will be seen as one ,under the given circumstances. All the evidence points to it.
Wasim, the proverbial, and conscious hurdle between two lovers returns home. Noor's chatter keeps her father occupied, while it gives Adi time to flee. But leaving Zoya is far from easy ! In the lounge downstairs Wasim quotes, poetry recitation session him and his wife attended.
Wasim ironically refers to the "thief hiding in the heart! muqarrar! muqararr! Once more!. However the sheer magic of the verses cast a spell between Zoya and Adi! The verses of love strum in their hearts and flow through their pure, serene touches. Repeatedly Zoya hangs on to the hands of the beloved thief who steals her very heart! Adi finds it hard to let go of her clingy warm hands around his wide palm! But a thief! has to flee! lest he be caught stealing property that belongs to another! Zoya , till she is not married to Adi remains the property, i.e her fathers daughter.. not Aditya's wife!
Some people, fully conscious, alert and aware , totally misjudge, miscalculate not only outsiders but their own dear ones too. Wasim falls in this category, he totally, misjudges Adi's honourable intentions of by bringing his daughter home safely. So set Wasim is in his ways, against his personal vendetta against the Hooda s that even Adi is outrightly condemned! for undermining Wasim's role as Zoya's father! Adi is reminded he is just a client! and warned to stay clear of his daughter!
Where making a conscious effort of speaking the truth, turns into a rod for Adi's back! The juice drink that didn't agree with Zoya! turns out into making Wasims Zoya dead drunk!. Wasim outrightly condemns Adi as a liar and vows to close the chapter of Aditya Hooda s forever! Wasim totally disregards his dead drunk daughters stance on his decision! Its significant how Adi's love letter for Zoya.. ends up near Wasim's feet! Low down! emotions to trample and walk over! Hamlet53 10.8.17
Overall a fine episode, where Adi and Zoya, consciously and unconsciously continue to bridge their emotional gaps. Both opposing and friendly sides against and with the couple are very much prevalent in the episode. Jennifer and Harshad, once again continue to portray their characters Zoya and Adi true to life. Precap: what will Zoya make off Adi's letter. Now that she has come round??
