When anxiety and worry prey heavily upon the mind, sleep tends to be lost and hard to find. Anjana, more so than Harsh,worries excessively about Aditya getting emotionally involved with Zoya. Where Wasim attempts to create permanent divisions between his daughter Zoya and that bad news Aditya Hooda, by trying to set her up with some Arshad bloke.Harsh uses his connections to set Adi up for a flying test. Both set of parents, in a gentle way try to enforce their ways upon their children,to keep Adi and Zoya.
Children too tend to lose sleep over categorically going against the demands of their parents. Adi is reluctant to take the test, yet clearly avoids saying an affirmative no to the rest. Anjana is misled to believe that once her Adi passes the test, the eclipse in his life in the shape of Zoya will forever pass, and happiness will return to his life. This is how Anjana views the situation, because it suits her.
Both Wasim and Anjana try the soft approach with their children as long as what they command is adhered too. Where Adi thinks it pointless to argue over the flying test with his parents, as he'd rather retire and sleep over the idea! Zoya as much as she wants , has her elbow bent by her father into ringing this keen suitor Arshad!
The need to talk to Adi about the issues bubbling up in her private life is strong! As friends do, Zoya rings him the middle of the night. Ready to pour out her troubled soul! She'll moan and Adi will listen and Zoya hopes he will as always, bail her out of this one too! Trouble is Adi slumbers peacefully! The scene is heavily scented with the essence of friendship. While Zoya prattles on about her parents arranging her marriage with Arshad! Conveniently a half asleep Adi manages not to take in the important bits of her private life! But as a friend does manage to fight off his sleep! and gives her his ear! Zoya is so much at ease with him that she quite naturally, gives him bashans upon the virtue of trust which lays the strong foundation in any relationships! Adi by now has learnt is say yes to the zealous Zoya! so she can say her piece and he can get back to sleep! The gist however ever is that friends always accommodate.
But nowadays the way things are progressing between them! even distance in terms of miles cannot keep their souls from reaching a brisk connection! From far they can enjoy black coffee with a hint of sugar, and dunk crisps in their hot stimulating beverage to keep awake!
The beauty of the informal scene lies not in the fact that they very nearly have similar taste! But in the fact, that after his past debacle with Pooja, Adi tries harder to appease the other person! No way would he dunk crisps in his black coffee! But to stimulate Zoya's interest in him, he gives it a try!! and what's more is he fibs to keep her happy! The scene shows Zoya in a lousy mood! But she still manages to connect with her friend at a god forsaken hour ! when she needs him. Adi heroically gives up his sleep, to calm her troubled soul! But the irony remains that he does not get head or tail of the real issue Zoya faces!
Zoya, sees Adi largely as her friend! A very dear friend.. that virtue which lacked in her marriage, as pointed out by Pooja's diary. Now to me it seems Zoya , sharpens her friendship skills, as far as Aditya is concerned!
As always Noor throws a gentle light on a key fact , that ringing Adi in the early hours of the morning to whinge about this Arshad!! Is just odd! Her appi, might as well marry Adi instead! But the stark reality is that Zoya would never think of marrying Adi! it reminds me of a scene, when she had a tiff with Adi! where she hissed ,she would never marry him, even if he was the last bloke on earth!! I do wonder though, if Zoya will lose sleep over Noor's childish blurting about Appi marrying Adi ??
The charger scene.. To charge is to restore lost power. Anjana's icy , caustic assault upon Zoya Adi's bedroom is all about a mother losing charge. Power and control off her son to another woman, who is neither his mother or wife! Zoya inadvertently tidies up Adi's room rather fondly when she finds his undrunk coffee and crisps! She recalls their charged up night before chatter!
Funnily Zoya left her mobile charger in his room! Its as if her dear friend ignites and puts power back in her life! In the same face fashion as she does for him. They necessitate the need for each other. Go together as mobile, with its stand by charger! Both rely on each others back up presence! Thus no surprise,Zoya finds her charging source , her low battery phone in the privacy of Adi's bedroom.
Anjana walks in already charged up against Zoya for taking charge of her son's life! She makes Zoya uncomfortable in every way! So as to weaken the power Zoya has over her son! Zoya is literally shooed ! off! Zoya runs from Adi's bedroom to save her self from the cruel charges Anjana presses against her professionalism and respectability! While Anjana vows to throw Zoya out of Hoodas life forever!!
Anjana is a bored, rich housewife charged by her shallow life style of kitty parties. Surrounded by gossip mongers. Where her rich peers, act as her sycophants to appease her emotionally!
In such gatherings, interestingly enough, Anjana restores her lost power as a good mother! In this kitty party at her house, some confessions even begin to sprout out of her mouth! Which if she's not careful can easily build up some serious charges against her, of doing away with Pooja!
Anjana confesses, her one mistake in her maternal nurturing was the inability to stop Adi from marrying Pooja!
Anjana's obsession for her son Adi to remain single is well noticeable, when she rejects the idea of Adi marrying .. so soon after Pooja's trauma in his life! She makes it clear, any girl, or marriage is not on the cards for her son the moment! Its becoming clearer, she prefers her Adi only tied to her apron strings! His being unmarried makes her feel secure! The concept of sharing him with another woman is quite un acceptable! Its possibly reminds her of the time when Harsh abandoned her, for another woman! She actually voices her fears, in the kitty part. Anxieties that are making her lose sleep! that Adi has already found Zoya! this girl poses a threat for her,of drawing her Adi from her!!
All set in full uniform for the flying test! Adi dithers. He has two options, either he leaves for Paris or stays and takes the test! This in itself is a test of choice between his past and future! Here he too feels the need to contact Zoya and pass it by her..
Like Zoya couldn't get through to Adi the issue of her impending marriage. Adi too fails to reach her! Zoya's phone was on charge forgotten in his room! So both in these key moments in their lives fail to consult each other. May be it was meant to be this way. So both can take their own decisions , without being influenced by each other!
Adi sets alight the flying test appointment letter! He will return to a new, place, to give himself a fresh start!.
Both Adi and Zoya, are perhaps unaware that when power passes away through them.. they themselves serve as battery chargers for each other. Hamlet53 26.7.18
Lovely episode, Adiya progressive bonding.. and the dangerous face of Anjana slowly begins to peel off! Loved Harshad and Jenny comic timing.. very funny and most enjoyable!
