Bepannah ~My thoughts ~ ep 41~14.5.18 Testing time..
Usually low times brings out the true grit in people. Trials and tribulations play a role in strengthening some and disintegrating others. The idea is to pass through the bad times. As such, some collect their wits by linking it to a test set by a higher entity.Take Zoya being devout in the faith she follows; reckons she is being tested.
Aditya, sceptical of any faith, let alone the he was born in, is bound to disagree with Zoya. His stance is more of a pragmatic approach. Not that the ones with faith are impractical, Ihasten to add. Aditya is more into the arrangement of honouring the owed debt? To me , he also believes if Zoya in her harmless sweet way pushed Yash into amassing debts he failed to honour. Thus Zoya perhaps needs to be subjected to a trial period where she is allowed to redeem her shortfalls. Pay off her husbands debts, as she is Yash s next to kin. Aditya spells out bluntly to her, dispose off the house she resides in currently to honour the bank creditors ! suddenly he adds she can pay off the money her cheater husband borrowed from him too.
Zoya, fathoms what he very nearly demands, not suggests! She finds the thought outrageous! She continues to think impractically. While Adi is trying to bring home the gravity of the matter to her. He may not be as ruthless to get back what he is owed by her cheater Yash. But others, half given the chance! will probably repossess her current cosy home. First he picks her default, thrashes her before Mahi . then patronises her! he'll allow her to stay after he owns her cheater husbands flat. But after all! He retrieves her self esteem! Empowers her by reminding her only she not him, can remove the threat of losing employment, employees face. Adi's target remains ,to scrape Yash out of her heart, mind, her very soul! Mercilessly he serves her the reminder. Falling for Yash will remain a default in her life. A man who evaded giving her true love!
Sarcasm, scathing, insolence, are all tools he uses visibly to shake her out of the bubble, he suspects she still resides in. It's also a spontaneous display before Mahi too, that him and Zoya are mostly at logger heads! Thus getting her bashful response and a cranky banter from Zoya! But within himself Adi by now knows, the woman may stumble but rarely fall. He wouldn't let that happen, as he cannot refrain himself from stopping her from falling flat on her face! Mind you, he mocks Mahi too with a song he renders in a manner, which suggests knew she would barge in ! when he was having a private word with Zoya!
See Aditya is like an elephant who never forgets.. whenever the chance arises he uses the same words Zoya used to rebuff and distance him off! Goes to show , what she says, matters to him! Today he pays her back in the same coin to emotionally corner her. The scene has a parallel where she pricks him with a needle to teach him what it feels like. Now he repeats her words to show, yes he too felt rotten when she pushed him away! devalued his efforts! All she sees is his brash visible mannerisms. Never does she sense.. that the last thing Aditya Hooda is.. is a treacherous foe for Zoya!
What's happening between these two is some form of a probationary period. Both are testing each other's, conduct, strengths and weaknesses. Aditya is brazen and public when he tests her. Zoya either gets dewy eyed as if on parole from her troubles. Or at other times when he infuriates her enough, she gives back in good measure what he gets from him! Both are unaware about the true essence of open flapping at each .That deep down inside, they are in an act of testing and proving themselves before each other. That which evolves silently between them.. into a bond.
Its clear, two aristocratic sisters are pitched against two dirty rich yet grounded lads !The sisters both sport a combat spirit within themselves. Noor is vocal in a raw juvenile manner. While Zoya is expressive too in a grand manner when provoked . One thing is clear both sisters have airs about themselves especially when they articulate .The scenes between Arjun/Noor; Adi /Zoya speak for themselves. Arjun/Noor scenes at the radio station, have a bright and breezy competitive ring to them. Whereas scenes at Zosh between Adi and Zoya are, thunderous , disheartening and discouraging! It's amusing to see both brothers, use pretension as a tool to gain the sisters attention. The brothers also differ in their approach of coming to terms with what they feel about the two sisters, respectively. Arjun, is quick to confide in Chiraj about what he feels for Noor! Whereas Aditya creates a loud racket in his banters with Zoya! yet assumes no one sees through his act. That he feels something for Zoya other than pure vendetta!
I thought letting Noor go through the interview process was sheer genius on Arjun's part. Not only does he find out her thoughts make sense to him. But he also wants her to feel she gets a fair chance at getting the job , on her merit and qualification. Of course Chirag! who sees all crystal clear, hires them both! Arjun senses how she feels. Each time they met ,Noor left an impact on him..she was being assessed for qualities that he needed, to go ahead in their undefined bond. Arjun is clear in what he is looks for in a girl. It's clear this is his first time in falling in love. Whereas Adi is cautious.. he daren't face he likes Zoya. His betrayal baggage in love puts him off . So he will not take a chance readily as Arjun does.
Aditya Hooda comes across as a ladies man in this episode. All out to please, annoy, ladies just to catch their attention! He winds Zoya up ,picks fights with her. welcomes her in her own to her horror. Appeals to Mahi, much to Zoya's annoyance. Last of all he lays down the offer to buy the present Arora home and shocks mum Arora! All to get Zoya's attention! By being blatantly obnoxious and unwanted in Zoya's present dwelling!
However the only good thing that lifts Zoya up, is the confidence mum Arora has in Zoya's relationship with AD! Now are Zoya's gestures of keeping Mahi away from Adi.. given more reinforcement, as her MIL too wants that? or Zoya has her own hidden agenda? for being a wall between Mahi/Adi? Adi would like Zoya to have one, her own agenda! methinks!
Mahi leaves her mark.. when Noor tells Zoya she's got a night shift job! Zoya suggests Noor consult her parents! Noor evades the subject. But Mahi keeps the upper hand! subtly she reminds Noor she is on parole.. while she is the probationer officer!
One A. Hooda credit card is retrieved. Plus Hooda's seem to be rounded off in a tight circle of suspicion by the police. So Pooja/Yash serious incident enquiry is underway, not forgotten! A brisk reminder to the audience.
Arjun Adi drive.. it's interesting to note, despite being so close, none of them confide in each other about their leanings towards the two sisters. Maybe its early days? With Adi its understandable he has other pressing issues on his mind like getting Zoya out of serious trouble! Arjun ends up being the typical gopher! Adi typically underplays and drops a bomb !wants big money from Arjun!! now the ball is in his court! Zoya's problem is passed from pillar to post! See the Hooda brothers are knights in shining armour! Sorting damsels in distress!! where do they get it from???
Pretty as a picture! Aditya doesn't have to spell his wishes to Zoya. They just fall into place just the way he wants things to look. Basically his actions on the swivel chair symbolises his need to be the centre of Zoya's attention. For that he spins all around! But calls Zoya, confused, scatty, fickle minded! All for her to sense what he wants! And then fight for her right! That's not all! his surplus energy regarding image over hauling ,whether it's his! or Zoya's or Zosh's! Adi promotes all in a vociferous way. What is seen, sells! The irony is what is visible about Aditya Hooda is perhaps not selling with Zoya! Or is she just not buying? She is still testing him!
When does Adi not get? what he wants done for a good cause. He ignores, underplays Zoya's presence, but praises and poses with Mahi! instead! Till the devil woman? or body guard in Zoya unfurls! like Mahi's fairy godmother. She flies at Adi .. slips on her bag! Falls into the curve of his arms! Pretty as a picture! Adi looks down into her upturned face.. his part mocking ,part tender gaze relays to her dilated pupils... what will be, will be.. you and I both cannot resist that which lies in our stars... hamlet53 15.5.18
Was an episode with a lot crammed in it, nevertheless Arjun/Noor scenes were soulful. The probationary period between Zoya and Aditya continues. both testing each other! Adi continues to give her minor shocks here and there.. the major one comes when he asks her to marry him! strictly business of course! Me loving the show, with all its imperfections.. so me still sailing this boat, which may rock! taken some sickness tablets 😆
