Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Shiddat is in the news since its inception. The film grabbed eyeballs for its amazing ensemble cast which also includes Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in pivotal roles. Recently, producer Karan Johar confirmed that the title of the film is not Shiddat. He tweeted, "Some clarifications!!! Yes...we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes the film will Commence shoot in mid April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon! [sic]
Now we exclusively bring you the new title of this period partition drama. As per our reliable sources, the film is now called Kalank. Though the title reminds us of the '70s and '80s era, it seems the makers have chosen it, keeping in mind the plot of the film. Kalank will mark the fourth collaboration between Alia and Varun after Student of the Year. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Interestingly, all the films are bankrolled by filmmaker Karan Johar.

Apart from Varun and Alia, the fans are also eagerly waiting to watch the crackling chemistry between Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, who had entertained us in films like Saajan, Khalnayak, Thanedaar and many others. On the work front, Varun has two interesting projects in store for us, viz., Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and Rannbhoomi. Also hearing that the shooting for #Kalank might begin tomorrow or sometime in a week, (I am not sure about it though). This is the same #Shidhat project. Karan Johar recently locked this title as it's the same name that Yash Johar had thought of the film when he was alive. [2/2]
