IWMBuzz.com brings to you the rather disappointing news that Vikas Bhalla's tenure in the successful show comes to an end. However, as they say, the show must go on!!
A credible source tells us, "Ranvijay will be killed just prior to the story taking a two years leap. With this, Bhalla will exit Udann.
As we know, the track of Ranvijay and Imli (Vidhi Pandya) joining hands to create terror in the village of Azadganj and also in the lives of Sooraj (Vijayendra Kumerai) and Chakor (Meera Deothale) was well-appreciated by the loyal fans of the show. The ratings too saw a new high with the track.
But now, as Sooraj and Chakor start their life afresh, the makers have decided to do away with the character of Ranvijay as he will not have much to do in the coming track. Hence the character will be given a good dramatic exit.
When contacted, Vikas Bhalla confirmed the news to IWMBuzz.com saying, "Yes, the character has done it best and has contributed to the story as much as it had to. Now the story is taking a leap and there is nothing for the character in the story to come. As we know, till there is a story for a character, everything makes sense. Beyond it, there is no point in activating a character just for the heck of it. It feels good to have been part of Udann. This is my second show that has completed 1000 episodes, the first being Uttaran. Both have been of Colors and I am happy to have been a part of the shows. I take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love and support. Special thanks to the channel and Producers for giving me such a beautiful role in Ranvijay. The character has gone through various shades. When it started, Ranvijay was the psycho cop with a dual personality. And now viewers saw him at the extremities of madness in Azadganj. I felt good portraying all the changes in emotions. There is always a new beginning for an actor. And I will be back with a new avatar in the near future.
When contacted, Producer Guroudev Bhalla gave us a reply stating, "In our industry, we can never say never (smiles). In this phase of our narrative, Vikas exits. We never close doors on our characters, especially when we have created them so beautifully and an actor has made our creation his own. Vikas has deeply felt and performed Ranvijay. We highly value his contributions to our tale. Keep watching for unimaginable highs and lows, unfolding of our story.
We hear that today (23 March) is the last day of Vikas on the sets of Udann. Ranvijay's death sequence will be shot today.
