The magic, the wonder, the mystery and the innocence of a child's heart are the seeds of creativity that will heal the world.

Remember when you thought Santa was real? Or that the moon was following you when you're in a car? How about the time when you dreamt of getting your own Shaka Laka Boom Boom pencil and the things that you were going to do with it. Such is the beauty of childhood!

On the occasion of Children's day lets reminisce about the funny misconceptions we all had during your childhood.

The most popular one was that the characters on TV were real and that they were inside the screen. Babies are given by God as a present to married couples. If only we knew!

Then the tooth fairy myth. Every child tried to hide their tooth under the pillow and the next day the fairy would magically transform it into money.

Our mothers would tell us stories about scary monsters who would take us away if we didn't eat our lunch. They would also trick us into eating carrots saying that we would get the cat's vision at night! The boys used to talk about how the Undertaker has seven lives and how WWE is real.

When an eyelash fell down we would blow on it and make a wish thinking it would come true. We refused to touch plants or pluck flowers at night because they were sleeping. The scariest one was how eating the seeds in a fruit would make a tree grow in your stomach. There are so many other myths and misconceptions which made our childhood magical and full of fun. There was no end to our imagination and the stories we could create with it.

Children are innocent and pure. They believe in things without questioning them. They have no preconceived notions and whatever they say is honest and sincere. As we grow up, somewhere along the way this innocence is lost. We become boring adults with busy lives who forget the smaller things in lifeand how happy they make us. As a result most of us are stressed all the time.

As a kid we couldn't wait to grow up but now we realize that we want to go back to being a kid. The least we can do is to hold on to the memories of our childhood tightly and never let them go.

Never stop looking at the world because through a child's eye everything becomes beautiful!

Happy Children's Day to one and all here on IF! 😃

The mention of Children's day will forever be incomplete without Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister and a renowned freedom fighter.

Ever wondered how his birthday became synonymous with Children's day celebration in India?

Originally, the idea of a Universal Children's day was proposed by V K Menon back in 1960s and the date, 20th November was selected to celebrate in worldwide. But after Nehruji's death it was decided that his birthday will be a better suited day for us to acknowledge this important event.

Nehru, who was fondly called 'Chacha Nehru' by many, was very affectionate towards children, thus earning himself the nickname. Being a firm believer of the saying- 'Education is the key to success', he dedicated his life to establish prestigious institutes like AIMMS, IIT, IIMs, ITI etc. for the benefit of the youth, The Future as called by him. He also launched a number of welfare programs like free meals and healthcare services to provide safety and necessary requirements for the children.

In many of his photographs we see him with a rose in his pocket, which is another allude to his love towards children who were never too far from his thoughts. He called them 'Rose Buds' and believed that children are as innocent and delicate as the flower.

The Rose has thus become a symbol of the simplicity and innocence of children.

Let us remember how Chacha Nehru had always looked to the younger members of this great, lovely family of India to hold the hands of the Future and lead the country to create a greater and a more glorious legacy over the already majestic past that we cherish.

Here's to the Future and the Rose Buds of India!
