Indrani's relation to Chandni

What is Indrani and Chandni's backstory? I forget. I know that Indrani keeps saying that Chandni is soutan but is that the only reason why Indrani doesn't love Chadni? How did Indrani become her stepmother?

Chandni biological mother died when she was a baby it was indrani who took care of her since she was 6 months old. She never accepted her as her real daughter.
