It's a high side, that as much as it's rather flattering for a wife to see that her husband was and is even now a much sought after man ,yet in the end she is the lucky one who has him now. The low side is that no wife however compromising , will allow his old flame turn up and make claims upon him. The oldest and most credible argument a wife uses against her husband's ex- associate is going to be that of waving the marriage certificate. The paper has legal significance and once married, gives the wife certain rights and privileges in society. Today's episode , although ,entertaining contains rather interesting thoughts which revolve around , the issues of what constitutes a marriage? Is it only ceremonial and ritualistic based, or does it include mutual consent of the two people involved in the contract of formally sharing their lives ahead. Does the marriage between Chandni and Advay only mean exercising certain rights over each other? or does their marriage show any sign of emotional connectivity and affiliation existing between the two? Within the episode , we see ,our focus lies upon both Advay and Chandni . The husband and his so called wife both are seen to react in situations in their inimitable styles. Chandni , in her abrupt yet polite style and Advay in his quiet disciplined manner..
Chandni too me is in full bloom, the delicate bud has flowered. She has braved adverse weather exposures. What with the forced marriage, culminating in the disastrous role of a one day bride, abandoned by her husband, almost rendered homeless. Then the knowledge that Advay is in actual fact the adult version of Dev ,and her goal is to coax him out. All these ructions have toughed her up along the way in her journey so far. To me, Dev with all his mood swings has somewhat contributed to her resilience as well. The righteous lot's support of the family in Nani Pooja , Adi, Shilpa and Murli have also watered Chandni with their love and shaped her to be sturdier in her stances. But being Mrs. Advay Singh Raizada can always do with room for improvement in her personality. Hence when her husband's ex- romantic liaison , Sasha turns up at her house, Mrs. Advay Singh Raizada gets the chance to show her sugar coated pill side too! Advay will be a spectator to two pretty women engaged in a duel over him. How flattering to his burly , suave, quietly aloof persona. But there is hope that for Advay too, this is not just a show of strength between the two women. That their cold war carries a clear message for him..which of the two women as it stands now in time , will society give credence to in relation to him? Chandni or Sasha ?
Chandni is at an advantageous position from the head start. She is the wife. While Sasha is the brazen, pushy other woman. That she knows more than she needs to know about Chandni being a one day wife is off putting for Chandni. Worse still when Advay hints on having a bond close enough to share his secrets with Sasha.. Chandni keeps the word secret in her mind to use it to launch her offensive. When Advay challenges Nani on her argument that he cannot deny Chandni being his wife.. He retorts, that it was Nani who gave Chandni the wife's status and a place in this house not him! Chandni begins to get a rough idea of what she still has to contend with . Furthermore she sees the true side of leela too. Leela maintains that marriage means a bonding of the hearts of two people, not a sham meaningless marriage like Chandni's to Advay. The girl after Advay's heart is Sasha and she rightfully applied the tilak to Advay! Not Chandni. Working on creating a bond between her and Advay ,tapping on the Dev inside him, is the area Chandni has to work on in the short term. But in the immediate term, she has to impress her marital status upon this outsider Sasha. Chandni is confident ,despite Advay's sounding off great rapport with Sasha , as Chandni has majority of the family ,bar leela , rallying support for herself. She will face Sasha not fear her! As there is only one truth ,It's the evident one ! That she is Advay's wife. Thus , his stubborn song of, I don't care! Chandni has no part in my life! Fails to deter Chandni as her battle is against the outsider Sasha who comes to pilfer her lawful wedded husband! Sasha will bring out more of the fighter in Chandni! Long gone is the timid girl who feared to cross the threshold of her house! Now her battle is to oust the infiltrator out of her designated territory!
The stereotypical foreign return, affected, shallow attention seeking and some what dense, dolly bird Sasha creates quite a spectacle with her plastic fake presence! It's hard to decipher what's a NICE guy like Advay Singh Raizada is doing with dame like her! Mind you CV's enjoy giving a poor representation of foreign return girls.. Many, love coming back to their roots! to celebrate their cultural heritage! love local food, artefacts , and treasured landmarks! the smell ,sounds ,and feel of local textiles! sold abroad! and yes they are respectful to the values of their forefathers too! But what do we get to see, someone like Sasha
The gift giving scene reveals more of Sasha, for the whole family to see.. Chandni the grounded traditional home grown girl has naught to fear from this Sasha ..who is annoying, dismissive, taunting, purposely belittling! the many names she calls Chandni instead of Chandni! The woman is rude and tactless, getting a pair of glares for Nani! Even Advay is not amused! Except for Leela , whom she appears to appease most, as she sees her as a ladder to get to ASR, the rest of the family ,repays her taunts back in like. Even Adi rejects the gift she gets him! Chandni takes it all in, regards this girl.. and thinks of how best to get under this hyped up dolly s skin!
Murli and Shilpa again place bets at this slinging match between the wife and the other dame.. it's clear both are on Chandni's side.Murli tells us, that Sasha and Advay's friendship dates back to years. But to him, she is like the ominous black cat who has cut Chandni's way! .. but Shilpa actually states Chandni too, is no shrinking violet ,she is far from a helpless maiden! She will not let saabji go to Sasha .. you watch!
Looks like to annoy his pretty wife, Advay tells the family that the dolly bird will be putting up with them, and not going home. The tour of the house is the ideal opportunity for Chandni to reckon with this infiltrator.. who should be perched up on Advay's bed tucking into a plate of noodles! Why Advay's dear wife who else! It gives Chandni immense pleasure to drop hints of the cosy relationship she shares with her hubby! Advay.. the fond names that he calls her with! one special one which is secret name! she can't say as for Sasha ,to combat her absentmindedness , Chandni jeers she'll make it easier for her.. call her bahbi! She feeds him an almond in front of Sasha ,with a snigger and wink! wink! expression, to suggest unmentionable moments between her and her husband. Sasha begins to agitate! Advay highly embarrassed tells Sasha to ignore whatever Chandni says! But Chandni is on a roll! her privilege as a wife is to give Sasha the impression that they share everything, their life! their room and even the bed!! Sasha is in shock and she leaves his room in a huff!
For Advay, he tells Chandni in no uncertain words when Sasha leaves, that cut the dramatics ! she tells him straight.. what she did before Sasha was her right! Her privilege over him as his wife! he disagrees right is only granted if there is a relationship he only married her to defame her and she is not his wife! neither he upholds this marriage! Chandni retorts ,that's where she is at logger heads with him! because she believes in the sanctity of their marriage and she will uphold it whatever it takes! But Chandni is crestfallen and confesses , its true you cannot be my Dev.. for he respected the institution of marriage unlike you! He mutters whatever and leaves.. so really , its some hard facts Chandni learns..but, because of her own strong convictions in marriage, she more or less tells him ,she will not be leaving this house..if that's his ongoing plan.. Sasha too she tells clearly ,that Advay is her husband! Sasha will have to fight this wife's stubborn stand! So she tells leela.. and accidently knocks off the glass vase on the floor,the flowers in it scatter too! Could this mean Sasha will eventually break Dev and Chandni's friendship? marriage? or could it mean.. she will lose Advay to Chandni?
Chandni will have her back covered by Nani ,Murli and Shilpa.. feels like more conspiracies are in the pipeline also against Chandni by Leela and Sasha.. more spates between the wife and the other woman.hamlet53 16.9.17
So really its a bout between friendships, a childhood bond between Dev and Chandni and an adult friendship between Advay and Sasha. The story has taken an interesting turn, which friendship will stand the test of time?? because then it makes history, and history is hard to forget..it may fade but it still remains. Sasha's entry is a positive sign, as it will goad Chandni to work upon building their present bond upon the foundation of childhood friendship. For Advay the comparative study of his past and recent friendships will help him to learn which friendship has his heart in it.. precap shows them sipping wine ,Sasha is keen on marriage.. but its Advay who stalls the idea? Why ? he notices, Chandni peeping at them through the door.. he smirks.. wot? Is he making her jealous? What is this man up to? All through the episode I did not see him get incensed by Chandni.. he really let her get away with a lot! Barun, Shivani, Simrti were just brilliant.. all three, yes Sasha annoyed me but she was meant too.. loved Barun's fed up looks.. in the bedroom scene..while motor mouth Shivani just went on with her prattle! Me enjoyed.. the episode.. good fun!
