(this is really true considering the havoc going on in Houston in USA). Ours is nothing in comparison.

learnt nothing from 26/7 have we?

agreed we need to be more responsible while dumping plastic , but then why aren't the making more trash cans and better provisions for dumping garbage?

i am tired of the "spirit of mumbai' chant which comes out only in tragedies

 

if BMC works regularly and more responsibly, these things can be avoided

The courts have been slapping BMC year after year for the shoddy work on potholes/roads and on so many other issues but they have been unable to get the results out of the BMC even after so much castigation. Could it mean that problems continue more due to incompetence rather than it being just a responsibility issue? Even court formed "expert committees" can't seem to give permanent solutions for most problems (take the perennial Mithi river"widening" or Powai lake "beautification") . They too seem to be tinkering around without having clear cut plans.

 I really wonder where the hitch is.
