Can women centric movies consider commercial movies?

BW is mostly male dominated place and actresses doesn't have much contribution for movies success but there are some actresses like Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut, Konkona Sen and Tabu that are known as strong actresses that can carry a film on their own without any top heroes, they even got lot of appreciations and awards for their roles on some of the women centric movies but most of those movies are consider art films and those actresses are also consider art film actress like Shabana Azmi because they haven't worked with many top heroes and they mostly worked on women centric movies. Queen was a commercial success.
Lipstick under my burkha couldnt earn while it is internationally appreciated.
Pink was a success but then there was amitabh Bachchan in it.
Fire was one of the first movie in india to touch the area of homosexuality in india but it was criticized even though the movie had stellar performances.
