How did Mahapadma Nanda die in actual history?

I am curious to know how Padma Nanda died exactly?
Chandraguta killed him or he exiled?

Well chandra besieged Dhana nand and not mahapadma nand...in actual history
But for the sake of the show, lets assume mahapadama nand...as the one who faced chandra in war. According to recorded history as in that's what makes to textbooks...chandra killed Dhana nand/Mahapadam nand.

But there are many theories coming from various literary sources claiming that he exiled...but historians don't agree to it (well most of the historians)
