Hi everybody,
update of Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein.... is here...
The groom's family has come to see Urmi and the whole mohalla is excited about it. The wannabe-groom, Akhilesh, is a lanky, bespeckled dentist, has lots of band aids on his face and smiles like a chimp.😆 Urmi is extremely irritated but talks in a very Sugar-coated manner.
To save herself from the marriage, Urmi talks to Akhilesh. She tells him that he should only say yes after thinking a lot, coz she has heard that decisions taken in a hurry can have disastrous repercussions.
Her plan works temporarily, coz when Akhilesh is asked whether he liked Urmi, he stupidly says that he is going to answer after 'thinking' 😛.
Sandip seems to hav realized Urmi's plan. He asks her why is she doing this. She says that she does not want to marry just anybody and end up taking care of the kitchen and kids all her life. She says that she wants excitement in her life, excitement in love. She wants that the guy she loves should stand in front of her house all night just to be around her, and she wants herself to think about him all night while he stands below.😆. Urmi hints to the fact that she likes somebody else but when asked she tells him she cannot disclose the name since she hasnt told the guy she loves ever.
Sandip tells her that love can happen even after marriage and all this love before marriage is not a good idea for her parents.
Just then Urmi's parents come and ask Urmi's decision. Urmi agrees to marry Akhilesh.
Next morning -
Zoya is very upset over Urmi's decision, coz she doesnt like Akhilesh. Urmi tells her that she has to eventually get married so its no such big deal.
On the road Urmi's 4 deewane... Jugle (the sikh lad), Rahul, Mushtaq and Hari are watching Urmi coming towards them. They are all bandaged. They tell each other that it would hav been better if anyone of them had married Urmi, at least she would have been always infront of their eyes.
As Urmi comes near them, they are all misty-eyed. When Urmi asks them how did they get bandages, they make varied and weird alibis.
Urmi tells them that she needs to call up her Akhil (nickname of Akhilesh) and goes towards the phone booth even though Zoya kept telling her not to marry Akhilesh.
Akhilesh is sitting on the pot in the toilet and singing "ooooo huzoor...." in a very Himesh tone 😛 and looking at some dirty magazine when his phone rings. He picks it and when he hears Urmi's voice... he is all blushing and swooning (which is very funny 😆). Urmi asks him where his clinic is and he tells her in Lodhi road which is very far from her place. Urmi tells him that her Nana says that life is about working and loving and not travelling for hours. So, he should make arrangements to get his clinic near the place where she lives. He tells her that it will cost a lot to change his location. Urmi tells him that her Nana has left her lots of money and with that she will be able to give it to him. She asks him to get the budget in the evening when he comes with his parents.
In the evening, Urmi mixes lots and lots of Turmeric and Chilli powder in the Akhilesh's tea and takes it to him while his and her parents where talking about marrying them very soon (i think in about 2 weeks).
Akhilesh and Urmi go the verandah to talk when Urmi offers Akhilesh the tea and asks him what his budget was. He says 40 lakhs. She tells him that her Nana has left her 42 lakhs and she can give all the money to him save 2 lakhs for her parents.
Akhilesh smses his father about the sum. Akhilesh's father demands for 40 lakhs from Urmi's parents that enrages them to such an extent that they ask them to leave the house as soon as possible and never come back to Colonel Gunj.
There is a commotion because of this in the street where everybody gathers to know what the matter was. When they learn about the demand they get angry too. They tell the groom's parents that they can use violence to kick them out of the mohalla, but since they are civilized ppl they will not do it unless they make the matter difficult. Sandip arrives and when he comes to know about the demand gets angry too. After the Akhilesh and his parents are gone, he asks how Urmi is doing. Her mother tells him that she is crying very hard.
In her room, Urmi is laughing with Zoya. They are rejoicing that Urmi's plan worked so well. Just then Urmi's sister Sharmila comes and tells them that Sandip is coming. Suddenly their hard laughter turn into loud cry. Sandip tries to console Urmi telling her that this wasnt the only groom. He promises he is going to get the guy Urmi loves. Urmi is elated.
Next morning -
Sandip in his house is sitting in front of the computer when Mrs. Mehta (Urmi's mom) arrives with Sandip's lunch. She tries to persuade him to marry, but Sandip tells her that he can get a servant to cook, clean and keep his house for him for 500 Rs. but he does not want to get married. Mrs. Mehta tells him that he can easily get a bride but to get a bai (servant) wud be very difficult 😆. Sandip asks how Urmi is doing this morning after the shock of last evening. She tells him that she has sent her to the temple to offer milk to Lord Shiva so that she gets a groom soon.
In the temple, Urmi is talking to Bholenath telling him that he knows what is in her mind, all she wants from him is the guy she loves. She tells him that she will only come to offer milk if he shows her the guy in the temple as she counts 3. When she turns she finds the 4 deewane standing looking at her. She gets irritated, but sweetly tells them that she is getting disturbed because of their presence. They single out as they think it is them for whom Urmi is praying. Urmi tries to cajole bholenath and tells him that she will still come next monday.
As she turns to go she sees Sandip come inside the temple \. She is very happy. Sandip stands beside her and tells her that her mother told him that she was here. He tells her that he will try and look for the perfect guy for her. She makes him promise this. She calls him Sandip 'babu' because of which he gets irritated and tells her not to be Sharmila Tagore and stop calling him that way. She doesnt stop doing it though.
In a shop called Landmark, a fax arrives for Panditji from his son Arjun who lives in America. It says that he will be coming soon to India. This news is welcomed heartily by everyone. Sandip is given the responsibility to arrange for the welcome. Urmi offers to help.
Every next morning are either cleaning the street or decorating. Urmi is in Panditji's house doing the bed when Jugle arrives with a DVD player and DVDs for the kids. When he sees Urmi he keeps staring at her. Zoya eyes Urmi to this... Urmi asks Jugle what he has got and asks him to keep it on the table. Zoya laughs at Jugle's love lost behaviour.
A Bengali neighbour comes and hands Urmi a bed sheet which cartoon prints. She tells her that she had got it for marriage but its been 2 years and still she hasnt been able to use it. She does not hav any kids... and that saddens her.
But soon she perks up and says that she does not want her husband to wake up one morning and go to school instead of office and so she is giving the bed sheet so that Arjun's kids can sleep on it.
Panditji comes to his house to see things very decorated and suddenly he hears a sound from inside. He sees that some toys were strewn on the ground and Urmi was trying to put them back in the almirah. She says sorry and that it was a mistake. Panditji says its fine and tells her that all the toys were Arjun's.
Just then Sandip comes and scolds Urmi for being so careless. Urmi is hurt, she goes away without putting the toys back saying that since she is so careless it would be better if the careful Sandip 'babu' keeps the toys.
Sandip doesnt know what to say. Panditji asks him to get medicines as he has heard that Arjun had cold.
In the evening,
Panditji is laughing and talking to his dead wife as if she was sitting in front of hi. After some time he realizes what he was doing and becomes gloomy. Sandip comes and gives Bauji (as he calls Panditji) the medicines. Bauji tells Sandip to get married and settle down the way Arjun has. Sandip tells him that will think about himself after he gets Urmi married.
Bauji asks him for another favor... to make Arjun stay for at least 6 months this time. Sandip agrees to talk to Arjun about this.
At night, Sandip is writing Arjun a mail telling him about the preparations for his Welcome, when he hears Mrs. Mehta calling Urmi for dinner. He goes out and finds Urmi standing on her verandah and looking on his side. Sandip asks what the matter was.
Urmi does not reply.
When Sandip turns to go inside, she says she is not finished yet.
Sandip asks her when did she start that she hasnt finished? Urmi sarcastically tells him that she does not use bad words even when she is angry with somebody. Sandip apologizes for his behaviour earlier, but Urmi is still angry. Just then his phone rings... he goes inside to pick up the phone
Arjun has called Sandip. Sandip tells Arjun how excited everybody is here. Arjun asks Sandip to renew his father's Passport as he wouldnt be able to stay for many days and he wants to take his dad to the US.
Hearing this Sandip is shocked and the phone slips from his hand!
