On Hazel's name-changing:
They had Anand Karaj (typical Gurudwara wedding). I guess that can happen only between two Sikh people. My friend's sister got married to a Sikh & they too had a gurudwara wedding. Since she was a non-sikh so was given a new sikh name for the rituals. She has that name even in the marriage certificate. But normally uses her original name.
Dont know how accurate that actually is though.
Same happens in Sindhi weddings too but there brides have to even normally change their names, Sindhi or not.
In muslim weddings too non-muslims have to.
And if couples dont want to go through so much complications then can simply go for court marriage 😆
