R ecently, as Bobby Kumar Vats was driving to Umergaon for the shooting of Ravan (Zee), the actor was attacked on the highway. "It's a three hour-long drive from Mumbai. I had stopped at a dhaba for a cup of coffee when these two drunkards appeared from nowhere. They tried to rob me. "I fought back and overpowered them. It was only after turning them to the police that I left the place. It was some divine power that helped me, " he says of the incident. Putting the unpleasant episode behind him, Vats is upbeat about his role as Lord Indra in Ravan. "It's the first time that I'm acting in a mytho- logical. My friend Narendra Jha (who plays Ravan), suggested that I should audition for the role." He was offered the role of Lord Shiva too. " I found playing Lord Indra more challenging because he is the lead antagonist and opposes Ravan head-on. He has more human qualities, being a good politician, academician and strategist as opposed to Lord Shiva who is godly." Vats was last seen in Banoo Main Teri Dulhan.
