From reel to real: Udaans Vijayendra Kumeria aka Sooraj is one doti

Sooraj (Vijayendra Kumeria) is the evil husband of Chakor (Meera Deosthale), who has manipulated not just Chakor but also her sister Imli's (Vidhi Pandya) life. Well, Colors' show Udaan has enough shades of grey for Sooraj that is Vijendra Kumeria. In reality, he is the exact opposite of Sooraj. Vijayendra is a happily married man and is a dutiful husband to the core. He is going to be a father pretty soon. Vijayendra these days is juggling between shoots and home to be with his expecting wife, Preeti Bhatia. The couple are expecting their first child in October this year.

Unlike his onscreen image of a manipulative husband in Udaan, Vijayendra is a dutiful husband. Since he lives alone with his wife in Mumbai there is nobody to take care of his wife. So, Vijayendra these days is taking care of all household duties. Right from cooking healthy food for his wife and all her medical check ups, he is a super busy man. Incidentally in his show Udaan also he is also shown as an expecting father and the whole track is around the unborn child of Imli and Sooraj.

Vijayendra hails from Ahmedabad and was working with Jet Airways as cabin crew before he trying his luck in acting. He made his debut with Zee TV's Choti Bahu in a cameo and was later seen in Housewife Sab Jaanti Hai opposite Monica Khanna. Later, he did a full fledged role in Star Plus' show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara opposite Alesha Sawant. His first show as a lead was Shastri Sisters' where he played the dashing pilot Rajat. Since Vijendra is tall and well built, he has mostly played a guy with defence force background in most of his shows.

This year, post leap he got the role of Sooraj in Udaan which is a lead role but with grey shades. He was initially playing the role of Imli's love interest but got married to Chakor due to a twist on the show. He is being appreciated for doing a fine job in a negative role. He has gained popularity with the show. The actor is managing his odd hours and household duties with flair.

Vijayendra and Preeti had a love marriage. She has worked as a creative with many TV serials and has mostly been behind the scenes. Since Preeti is in her last stage of pregnancy, Vijayendra is ensuring he spends maximum time with his wife...Gosh considering his on screen image it's difficult to believe that he can be such a husband in real life.
