Hello my lovely forum folks!
How are we doing?
I'm sure the OLVS, #6Months and forum ranks are keeping you guys in the prime!
I'm back with another OS...
Prii (Priyam) Requested an OS with the song "Zara Si Dosti Kar le", now how does one turn down such a request, so feast yourselves!
This one's for you Prii!! Hope it meets your expectations.
Epilogue:
Aditya fiasco is over. Suman is very much single. The family is supportive of her. Shravan is highly apologetic for his wrongdoings. Suman is not ready to forgive him just yet. She is back at PCT and Shravan is looking for ways and means to have Sumo just look at him one more time.
There will be flashbacks in the story, more like their past memories. These memories may or may not have taken place on the show. Shravan's memories are in blue and Suman's memories are in Red.

ZARA SI DOSTI KAR LE
The shrill noise of the alarm clock rang through Shravan's room, which was put off in no time. Why does he even bother having an alarm? It's not like he gets much sleep these days anyway. A bit longer, and he'd be in the Guinness book of world records for the most number of sleepless nights spent. Shravan sighed and got off from his bed. Come on Shravan, Day 7 of 'Sumo ko Manao' drive. Soch kuch naya Shravan."
He started striking off the already used and flopped ideas in his head,
"Direct apology", check.
"Indirect apology", check.
"Emotional talk apology", check.
"Favorite samosas ke saath apology", check.
"Raat bhar ghar ke bahar barish mai bheekar subha apology", check.
"Din bhar follow karke apology", check.
"Have your case presented by an elder (Nanu) apology", check.
"Puppy eyes and hurt face apology", check.
"Sumo, yeh kya baat hui?"
"Ab kya hai chashmish?"
"Tum ne Rahul ko aaise hi maaf kar diya! Itni aasani se... Mujhe toh kitne papad belne padte hai maafi ke liye!"
"Tujh mai aur uss mai zameen aasman ka farq hai bevakoof!"
"Haan hain na, mujh mai dimag hai uss mai nahi hai"
"Nahi! Woh guitar bajata hai, bohot accha..."
"Usmai kya hai? Guitar bajana kaunsi badi baat hai. Aur tumne usse sirf iss liye maaf kar diya ke who saara din tun tuna bajata phirta hai"
"Tun tuna nahi, guitar. Aur woh mere liye kal sabke saamne mera favourite song bajayega."
"Bajayega sirf, gayega nahi?"
"Nahi, ga nahi sakta woh"
"Accha toh mai jab tumhare liye gaoonga na..."
"Tum gaoge.. ha.. hhaaaha.. joke Shravan" Saying Sumo walked away.
"Ek din dekhna, zaroor gaoonga tumhare liye, aur guitar bhi bajoonga."
A fond smile tugged at Shravan's lips. Good old days he thought. Suddenly it struck him! Sumo guitar bajane walon ko maaf kar deti thi! Yeh hui na baat Shravan! Ab toh maafi pakki! He immediately called Eric to have his Guitar couriered in the speediest delivery available.
Shravan had learnt playing the guitar in London, it made him feel close to his Sumo. He wasn't a very bad singer either. This would work he thought, hopefully. Now for the song. Should he sing about love? About apology? About friendship? Ah! Yes! Friendship! Kyunki dosti shuruaat hoti hai pyaar ki. Decided, a song on 'Dosti'. But which one? "Yaaron yahi dosti hai" nah, too college farewellish. "Yeh dosti hum nahi todenge" no, already broken this friendship more than once..
The day went past trying to find a good song but to no avail.
Frustrated he grabbed his car keys and headed out for a drive. Fresh air would do him good. The guilt was eating him up anyway. He turned the radio on, it was a slow song. Wait was that "dosti" he heard? He cranked up the volume. This was the song, this would do it! He came home, searched the song and started to learn the lyrics and the rhythm. He would have the guitar by tomorrow morning, he could practice the strings then. The night breezed past. Day 8! This was going to be good. His heart told him. Now all he had to do was wait for evening.
He reached PCT at 7.30 P. M. Closing time. Pefect. Cause Sumo would have done what she loved, the whole day long! Cooking! He parked his car and texted Suman, "Mujhe milna hai. Kuch baat karni hai." He saw Sumo had read the message and not replied. 20 minutes passed, he saw the entire staff leaving, Sumo was still no where to be seen. 'Koi baat nahi, mai yahin hoon Sumo, tum bahar toh aao'. The reason he didn't go inside was his guilt. The last time he came here he so blatantly declared they weren't friends anymore. Oh how he had behaved! His confidence began to falter. No. No. He made mistakes, he was man enough to accept them and ask for apology. That's what he was here for, no backing off now. He grabbed his guitar and stepped out of the car.
Sumo was miserable. No matter what Shravan did, she did love him. And he was guilty wasn't he? But then all that crap he said, no she couldn't just forgive him like that. His thinking was wrong. She wasn't replying to his message. He may think what he likes. It was getting late, she grabbed her bag and set out for home. The moment she stepped foot outside PCT she saw Shravan casually lounging on the bonnet of his car, guitar strapped around his torso, a frown marring his handsome face. Wait, handsome face! Sumo you're supposed to be mad at this man. She started to walk off only to halt dead in her tracks. What was he doing with a guitar? At that moment Shravan snapped out of his reverie and saw Sumo looking at him agape. He forgot what he was here for.
After what seemed like eons of intense eye lock, Sumo's phone rang. "Haan, haan mausiji. Mai leti aaongi. Haan bas nikal rahi thi. Okay. Okay. Bye."
Suman walked towards her car and that's when Shravan remembered what he was her for. He started strumming his guitar, looking intently at Sumo. Her back facing him, he couldn't see her angelic face. Nonetheless, he continued.
"Zara si
dosti kar le
Zara sa humnasheen ban ja
Zara sa sath de bas phir
Chahe ajnabee ban ja"
"Mujhse dosti karogi?" stood a hopeful Shravan on the terrace of Tiwari Killa.
"Haan" beamed a teenage Sumo.
"Toh kaho, friends?" Said a confident Sharvan with his hand outstretched.
"Haan" said a blushing Sumo, wiping her mango-covered hands to shake his.
"Sau
khwab hain
Ek zindagi
Kaise chune
Kya chaiye"
"Main na bada hoke sports car khareedoonga. Tum aaogi mere saath drive pe?"
"Obviously! Tum jaise chashmish ke saath aur kaun chalega?"
"Shravan! Mai na badi hoke world tour pe jaoongi"
"Aye! Mai bhi tumhare saath aaonga"
"Toh tumhe kya laga! Mai akele jaane wali thi. Bevakoof!"
"Shayad
teri
Haan na mille
Phir bhi hume teri
Na chaiye"
"Is this love?" Asked an innocent Shravan.
"Maine tumhe akela nahi choda tha." Yelled an agonized Sumo.
"Tu hi
safar
Tu raasta
Tu hi kaarwaan
Kaise chalu main
Tere bina"
"Mai haar gayi hoon Shravan. Ab kuch nahi ho sakta.." sighed a dejected Suman
"Mai roz tadap raha hoon Sumo, bohot dard ho raha hai." Whispered an intoxicated Shravan.
"Jab talak tu mujhmein
yaar shamil raha
Tujhmein tha jo mera mujhko hasil raha
Kho gaya hai tu toh, ab ye lagta hai darr
Kya ye dil bechara tere qaabil raha
Sun le dua, ye ilteja
Tujhse juda
Main kuch nahi hoon
Tere bina..."
"Sumo, maaf kar do mujhe. Mai bohot galat tha. Please. This guilt is making it difficult for me to breathe."
"Mai keh chuki hoon Shravan, tum apne guilt mai jeeyo ya akelepan mai, I don't care."
"Zara si
dosti kar le
Zara sa humnasheen ban ja
Zara sa sath de bas phir
Chahe ajnabee ban ja"
Shravan managed to finish the song without choking. He looked up at Sumo, she was still standing with her back against him, her left hand clutching the door handle of her car. A few moments passed in silence. Shravan's heart began to sink. He wasn't getting forgiveness, not just yet. He turned around to leave.
"Oye lambu!"
Great. First his crippling guilt now paranoia! Shravan, you have lost it.
"Behre ho kya!"
Shravan continued to walk. Suman picked up a pebble and threw it on Shravan's back. "What the .. " He turned with a jerk. What he saw next was to give him a lot more sleepless nights. His Sumo, face tear stained but a wide smile gracing her lips.
"Tum has rahi ho ya ro rahi ho?"
"Dono"
"Dono?"
"Haan.."
"Ro rahi ho toh mai bata doon, itna bhi bura nahi gaata mai, aur has rahi ho toh phir bata doon, gana tha joke nahi"
Sumo's smile got wider if that was even possible but then so did the intensity of her sobs.
"Sumo, ro mat yaar please. Im sorry. Lo kaan pakadta hoon. Murga banoo?"
Sumo chuckled, "Tum ab 17 saal ke nahi ho, murga banu! Pagal"
Shravan blushed, "Sumo, tum mujhe maaf nahi karna chahti na, mat karo. Mai layak nahi maafi ke. Mujhe aaise hi lifetime guilt mai tadapna chahiye. Tum mujh se ladh lo, maaro mujhe. Par mujh se baat karna band mat karo."
"Kaunsi B grade film se chepe hai yeh dialogue!"
"Mere apne hai. Ekdam original!"
"Faltu hai bilkul."
"Mujhse dosti karogi? Iss baar pakki wali"
"Sirf dosti?"
"Dosti se start karte hai aur ..."
"Aur?"
"Pyaar pe continue"
Suman blushed a deep shade of crimson. "Shravan, py..ar..."
"Haan, hamesha se, jab se pyaar ka matlab nahi pata tha tab se! Shaadi karogi iss lambu, chashmish, bevakoof, male chauvinist, gadhe se?", said Shravan hopefully.
Suman couldn't believe her ears. Was this happening? Did he? "Haan", her voice sounded alien to her. Did she say yes to his proposal? Was it so simple?
"Haan?" Shravan's excitement knew no bounds. "Tumne haan kaha! Tum mujh se? Shaadi!!"
"Haan Shravan! Hamesha haan! Itni der kyun ki tumne yeh kehne mai?"
"Tum ne haan kaha!"
"Haan buddhu! Tumhe lagta hai sirf tum mujh se pyaar kar sakte ho. Mai tumse nahi!?"
"Tum pyaar karti ho mujhse!"
"Nahi! Aaise hi shaadi ke liye haan bol rahi hoon! Karti hoon pyaar! Hamesha se."
Shravan was grinning like a fool, he didn't know when a tear made its way down his face. While he kept repeating, "Tum mujhse pyar karti ho!" He engulfed her in a hug. She sighed peacefully in his embrace. Their worlds seemed complete. All the pain long forgotten. Their grievances disappeared into thin air. They were two best friends madly in love with each other. Two souls in euphoria.
After a while, Suman asked, "Tumne guitar bajana kab seekha?"
"London mai"
"Kyun?"
"Kyunki tumhe pasand tha, aur mujhe lagta tha tum kareeb ho"
Sumo kissed his chest where his heart beat, "Itna pyaar karte ho mujhse?"
"Tumhe andaza nahi utna..."
"Mai bhi"
Time stood still.
Sach hai, Mil jaate hai jo bane Ek Duje Ke Vaaste.
