Is there anyone watching this serial? Seems to be interesting... Story by famous writer Thiru.Balakumaran sir..

I saw d promo...but saw glimpse of d soap..but it seems to be different from what I imagined...can u pls provide a brief update till now if possible? :)

Is the story of Vedavalli, a brilliant and pragmatic middle class young girl who gets married into a wealthy joint family and fights to keep it united. The story is about family values, women empowerment and triumph of right thinking over evil intent.

Sundar's father and Vedavalli's father are long time friends. And it was Sundar's mother wish that Vedavalli must be their daughter in law. But she is no more.

Kalpana is a staff in Sundar's shop named Lakshmi and Co..Dealers of TV, and fridge and other household items. She is from a middle class family and wants to get married to a rich family. She wants to get married to Sundar. But Vedavalli and Sundar are engaged to marry.On the marriage day, Kalpana gets married to Sundar using some tactics. This makes Ramanathan (Sundar's father) to get angry on Sundar and curses him. But Sundar confidently says that he is innocent. Kalpana feels unsecured and starts torturing Sundar. But sometimes shows extreme love towards Sundar..

Nagarajan second son of Ramanathan and a drunkard. Doesn't care for anything. Just roam with his friends. This make Ramanathan get anger towards Nagarajan and always scolds him by comparing him with other two sons. Meanwhile Nagarajan saves Mallika from rowdies and brings home Mallika and her mother to work in their home. Mallika wants to marry Nagarajan to settle in life . But Mallika's mother is a thief and steals Ramanathan's Diamond ring and caught red-handed. And both were thrown away from their house. Meanwhile Nagarajan also falls in love with Mallika.

Unsecured Kalpana tortures Sundar more. So Sundar talks with Dr. Vivek to marry Vedavalli. Vivek also accept to marry Vedavalli.
Vedavallis marriage is fixed with Vivek again. But Vivek dies in an accident on the morning of marriage. Hearing the death news Vedavalli's father begs Ramanathan that one of his son Nagarajan should marry Vedavalli. First Nagarajan denies bcoz he doesn't like Vedavalli from childhood. But Ramanathan forces Nagarajan to marry Vedavalli. Vedavalli gets married to Nagarajan. As Ramanathan wish Vedavalli became daughter in law for him

Though Nagarajan marries Vedavalli he can't accept her as wife.. They both come to conclusion that they r only roommates and behave like couples in front of others.

After their marriage Ramanathan starts to praise Nagarajan and this make him to move comfortably with Vedavalli. He believes that all bcoz of this marriage his life has changed. His father who always scolds him now becomes casual and praises him.

Kalpana makes some tactics to get rid of Vedavalli... But everything fails.. Nagarajan praises Vedavalli as his Athirshta Lakshmi.. Kalpana meanwhile updates everything to Mallika and tells her to make Nagarajan marry Mallika.

When Mallika ask about the happenings to Nagarajan.. He says he did all for the sake of his father. It's Mallika whom he loves and Vedavalli is just roommate. He can't stand opposite to his father.. But one day will get divorced and marry her

Meanwhile Vedavalli starts falling for Nagarajan, by seeing his character and hearing the reason behind him to drink. She tries some tantrums to stop Nagarajan drinking but everything fails...

Thanks a lot...will try watching...I thought Kalpana ll be other women in Vedavalli and Sundar's story...but its Nagaran aka Sri married her...

Kalpana and her family always creates situation to trouble Vedavalli but Vedavalli just overcomes and nose cuts Kalpana..

Kalpana always says that Vedavalli is unlucky before everyone.. For that Nagarajan knocks Kalpana saying Vedavalli is his lucky angel. This makes Kalpana angry towards Nagarajan.

Vedavalli promises Ramanathan that she will do the needy to Nagarajan stop drinking. So she throws away the bottles from the house. By hearing this Nagarajan slaps Vedavalli and says your are not my pondatti.. Pondatti mathiri..
I have given u more space.. Hereafter it won't happen.. By then he keeps distance from Vedavalli and scolds her for everything.. But behaves a goodie in front of his father and Vedavalli's family..

Meanwhile Kalpana tortures Sundar that she is the mootha marumagal and not treated as such. All are praising and treating Vedavalli as the only marumagal..

A new shop is going to be opened. Kalpana orders Sundar that she must open the shop. Sundar some what accepts and says he will talk to his father. But Ramanathan wants Vedavalli to open the shop. Sundar openly talks about his situation to Vedavalli, she says it is her duty to make mama accept for Kalpana to open the shop.

Vedavalli talks to Ramanathan that Kalpana is first daughter in law of this family and she should be given that respect, so she should open the shop. Ramanathan accepts.

Without knowing the truth Kalpana degrades Vedavalli saying that she is not lucky enough to open the shop. So mama decides that Kalpana should open the shop.

On the opening day of the shop Kalpana conveys her thanks to Ramanathan. But Ramanathan says you should say thanks to Vedavalli.

Brief update

Hearing this Kalpana gets angry and leaves house. Nagarajan's Friend misbehaves with Vedavalli. Vedavalli scolds Nagarajan all this happens only because of his drinking habit. Nagarajan beats his friend and make him fall in Vedavalli's leg, and says sorry sister. Vedavalli becomes happy. Vedavalli imagines how he could have beaten his friend by comparing with movie stunt sequences. Nagarajan watches this and explains Vedavalli how he beat him in Bala movie style. Both Nagu and Vedavalli laughs by hearing this. Nagarajan gets up and forwards. Suddenly slips and Vedavalli catches him. A nice ilayaraja theme playing



Meanwhile Kalpana calls for Sundar and he rejects the call. Kalpana calls from her mom's number without knowing Sundar attends the call. Both Argues.. Kalpana says you should come and call me.. Sundar rejects and says that he will not call her. Let her be there.

Nagarajan takes Vedavalli to karate school for self defense. There the master says that Vedavalli is black belt holder and she is the best student when she was in Kanchipuram. Nagarajan shocks. And updates everything to his father. His father feels proud of him.

Kalpana calls sundar and Vedavalli attends the call. Kalpana gets anger and shouts at her. Sundar gets the mobile hears all this and ends the call. Kalpana makes a plan to get back to sundar's home and separate Vedavalli and Nagarajan. So she meets Mallika and says her to go to Ooty for a week with Nagarajan. Mallika talks with Nagarajan and make him accept to go for Ooty.

Nagarajan says lie to his father for going to Ooty. But his father orders him that he should go with Vedavalli and books flight tickets for coimbatore. And gives his credit card for purchase and etc., Nagarajan confused...

hi friends. I also watching this serial regularly.  It is very peculiar serial when comparing to other serials

Nagarajan someway convinces Vedavalli and Vedavalli tells that was not Nagarajan's style of conveying and tells you to go tour and I will not come. This makes Nagarajan happy and he gets ready for the tour with Mallika. But Vedavalli feels sad that he always avoids her.

At the same time Nagarajan's father and Sundar leaves Trichy saying that he should go to Ooty with Vedavalli only.

Next morning Nagarajan gets ready for the tour with his luggage. Mallika calls him and he says he is on the way. He just wants to inform Vedavalli. He sees veda sleeping. Calls her. No response from her. Goes near her and found that she was suffering from high fever. Immediately calls servant maid veeraiah for help. Orders veeru to care of her since he wants to go to Ooty. But veeru says not to go. Since she is more suffering. But he refuses and leaves. This makes veeru to get anger towards Nagarajan. Vedavalli feels sad.

Cab arrives and Nagarajan leaves. Mallika makes call and and confirms he has left the house.

At the house a doctor arrives to treat Vedavalli. Treats and says high fever and gives medicine and her husband Nagarajan only sent her here to treat his wife. Veeraiah says though he sent the doctor he left her lonely at this situation. There comes Nagarajan
saying veeru... Both happy seeing Nagarajan back. Doctor says he came to clinic and took her here. I came first he was parking my car.

After doctor leaves Vedavalli questions him. Nagarajan says I cannot go anywhere leaving her in this situation. Tour canceled.

Meanwhile Mallika calls Nagarajan for not coming. He says that it was an emergency his father was I'll so he cannot come. Mallika scolds his father. This makes him angry towards her he also scolds severely and disconnects and switch off the phone. He feels himself for having a relationship with a person like her.

Nagarajan really takes care of Vedavalli. Meanwhile Kalpana and Mallika are talking in phone about tour. Mallika cries and updates what happened and tour has been canceled. Kalpana says truth to Mallika that his father and sundar are in trichy. And says He must have been romancing Vedavalli since they are alone. And asks Mallika to call often till he attends the phone or msg him that she will leave him forever. She does it.

When Nagu switch on the phone he founds many missed calls and msg from Mallika. So he asks veeru to take of Vedavalli and leaves.

Mallika house. Nagu tries to convince her. He will get mad if anyone abuses his father. It was her fault. But malli asks where her father is now. At last Nagu says all the truth to her. Mallika shouts at him and ask him to get out. Malli updates all to Kalpana. Kalpana decides that she should get back to the house soon.

Nagu return back and Vedavalli missing. Asks veeriah. Both searches. Sees bathroom. Sees Vedavalli lying down unconscious. Veeru asks Nagu to lift Vedavalli and ask her to take to bed. But first he refuses and at last he takes her.

Doctor arrives and checks her. Fever increased. Scolds for taking bath. And also tidy room. Asks to shift her to another room. He once again lifts her and shifts to Kalpana's room. Vedavalli wakes up. Nagu says her everything happened and gives her a Nighty and says this dress might be comfortable for her. Vedavalli feels happy for him and imagines how he could have lifted her and smiles.

Amrita, Veda's younger sister comes and watches the above convo between Nagu and veda. Nagu welcomes her. She thinks that he is acting. Says veda tell him not to act before her. But Veda refuses and says he is not acting and takes care of her very well.
Both sisters happy...
