Ram breaks Lord Shiva's bow and tremors occur. A king expresses his amazement and says he was supposed to tie the string. Another king supports Ram and says that he's extraordinary and has broken their . An arrogant king objects and tells Janak that Ram has broken the code, Sita will remain unmarried forever. These comments fuel Lakshman's anger who points his bow towards the rebels. Ram asks him to calm down. Janak requests everyone to calm down and says that Ram is from great ancestors and teachers like sage Vasistha and Vishwamitra and shouldn't be doubted. He seeks Ram's explanation. Vishwamitra agrees and asks Ram to explain why he broke the bow.
Ram apologises for breaking the bow and States that it was unintentional. He further utters that the breaking of the divine bow is symbolical as the kings turned this swayamvar into a competition and looked at Sita as a prize to be won. The breaking of the divine bow has shattered their mentality. Marriage must be based on equality and wife shouldn't be reduced to a mere symbol of valor.
A king asks if Ram's conduct is acceptable. Janak grows serious and thinks about it. Ram requests Janak to consider Sita's opinion as she has the right to select her husband. She shouldn't be compelled to garland the winner. A delighted and teary-eyed Janak appreciates Ram's thinking and utters that his aim was to find a suitable groom for Sita. He exclaims that only a man free of greed, jealousy and anger, with a pure and compassionate heart could string the bow. Ram deserves to marry his daughter. Saying so, Janak seeks Sita's wish. Sita replies that she's blessed to be the contemporary of a man who holds a woman in such a high esteem. It's her good fortune to get Ram as a husband.
Janak tells Vishwamitra that he's grateful to Ram. Sita approaches Ram with a garland. Ram and Janak greet each other with joined hands. Sita garlands Ram and everyone showers flower petals on them. Sage wishes for the marriage to be conducted soon. Ram tells Janak that he accepted the garland as per the codes, but it's important to get the consent of parents for marriage. Janak agrees and replies that the king of Ayodhya will be sent an invitation soon.
Suddenly, thunderstorms occur and Lord Parasurama arrives. He angrily asks who broke the bow.
