Kaikeyi breaks-down after Bharat's departure.
At Yajnavalkya's ashram, Sita asks the sage if Gargi can become a teacher here. Yajnavalkya seeks Gargi's opinion. She replies a male-dominated society won't accept a female teacher. Sage Yajnavalkya asks Sita who is the goddess of knowledge. She answers Devi Saraswati. Yajnavalkya politely says that women learn the Vedas and they can impart the knowledge too. Gargi declares that she can't change herself. Yajnavalkya tells her that if she changes herself, it'd be an injustice to the students. He welcomes her in his ashram. Gargi surrenders before his wisdom and admits that she is yet to gain complete knowledge. Perhaps his Gurukul will make her attain complete knowledge. The sage asks his students to greet their new teacher.
Dasaratha reviews the border security. Kaikeyi enters and the rest depart. Dasaratha angrily tells her that her ego caused the departure of two princes. Kaikeyi weeps and begs his pardon. Dasaratha melts on seeing her tears. Kaikeyi thinks that the sole aim of her life is to settle Bharat on Ayodhya's throne.
Gargi narrates the tale of Shiva and Gauri. She tells her students that Gauri faced several hurdles in pleasing Lord Shiva. Now Shiva and Gauri are incomplete without each other and their love is legendary. Sita asks that why isn't Mata Gauri preached. Sage Yajnavalkya tells her that they will make an idol of Gauri.
Sage Vasishtha approaches Ram and tells him that one of the four pillars of Raghukul collapsed. Ram recalls the sage's past words. Vasishtha tells Ram that a disciple like him is a blessing and fulfils the preceptor's life purpose. He further says that there's just one way to save Raghukul from decline, the establishment of Ram-rajya. The way is full of difficulties. Ram replies that he seeks the strength to overcome those difficulties.
Janak announces the construction of a grand temple. Sita and Sunaina get excited.
Dasaratha wonders why sage Vasishtha sent for him.
Sumitra recalls Kaikeyi's words to Dasaratha and says that the situation is troublesome. The division of sons and rights is replacing the mutual love in this family. She prays to Shiva linga for the betterment of Raghukul. Lord Vishnu appears before her eyes.
