Kushadhwaja utters how can he take his daughters away if it upsets them. He is happy in their happiness. All the sisters hug him. Chandrabhaga gets upset but Sunaina's words cheer her up. Janak asks the sisters what will they do after marriage? Sita replies that they will always be together. Janak says that he prays for the same.
Shanta tells Kaushalya that she's very happy on seeing them. She hugs her brothers and tells them that they will always be in her thoughts and prayers. Kaushalya tries to gift a necklace to her daughter but she politely refuses and says that it doesn't suit a rishi's wife. Kaushalya asks her to promise that she will visit Ayodhya. Shanta agrees and asks her to tell Dashratha that she is happy and satisfied. She adds that she's aware of her father's love, he shouldn't regret but keep her alive in his life, as his daughter. Kaushalya and her sons bid adieu to her.
Sita and her sisters enter Janak's chamber. She tells him to narrate the tales of inspirational men. Janak narrates the tale of the truthful king Harishchandra who would never break his promise. Sita remains awake and hears about Dasharatha and his eldest son, the future king.
Laundry men behold the princes and feel delighted on seeing them wearing the cloths washed by them. Kaikeyi asks Dashratha to send an invitation to her father and brother as it's been a long time since she met them. She narrates some incidents of their past but Dasharatha doesn't pay much attention and worries for Kaushalya and his sons. When they arrive, he ignores Kaikeyi and rushes to meet them. Anger, confusion, insecurity and sadness surround Kaikeyi who recalls Manthara's words. She breaks her necklace and its beads get scattered on the floor. She tries to soothe herself and weeps. Sumitra welcomes Kaushalya and the princes. Kaushalya happily tells her that Shanta isn't angry with them. She's very happy and satisfied. Sumitra tells her that Dasharatha hasn't eaten since her departure. Kaushalya smiles and goes in to prepare food for the king. Bharat feels happy on seeing Kaushalya's happiness. Ram tells him that they have to take their father's blessings.
The courtiers of Mithila demand death for Sudhanva but Kushadhwaja objects. Janak utters that death penalty is against Mithila's values. But since Sudhanva disrupted the peace and caused trouble to the subjects, he must be punished. Janak forbids him from entering the states under his dominance. Sita questions that if nobody owns anything on this planet, how Mithila can be a part of his dominion?

Why are they making ancient Mithila look like a post death penalty world?  Janaka did kill Sudhanva for demanding both the bow, as well as Sita's hand in marriage.  Sudhanva's kingdom was handed over to Kushadhwaj.
