Coming to think about it, was it the rule in those days that rulers had to maintain a distance from their subjects?  In the  ACK 'Sons of Rama', it's mentioned that Rama used to visit his subjects daily to listen to their problems.

Thanks for the update Dev. I never knew that Sita was obsessed with Golden deer from her childhood. So that obsession of her made her to demand for the golden deer (Rishi Mareech) during their 14 years of exile from Ayodhya which was responsible for herself landing in Lanka.
