Sita walks towards her elders and expresses her desire of going to the battlefield to heal the injured soldiers. Janak smiles and tells her that her uncle is going there to end the disputes. If she accompanies him, his focus will rest upon her safety. Sita agrees. Her uncle and the soldiers march ahead.
Manthara asks Kaikayi to behave like a queen. Kaikayi gets annoyed and tells her that age has made her corrupt. Moreover, she doesnt desire to be like her mother. Ram calls her, Manthara blocks the queen's way and utters that she is resting. After knowing that it's Ram outside, Kaikayi avoids Manthara and rushes to him. She embraces Ram with love and inquires about Bharat. Ram tells her that he's afraid to face her. Kaikayi grows desperate to behold Bharat. The latter moves ahead in hesitation. Kaikayi embraces him and feels that he has grown weak. She compares him with Ram and inquires if he did nothing except drawing paintings. Ram tells Kaikayi that they didn't get her hand-made laddos at the ashram, this is what weakened them all. Lakshman and Shatrughan arrive to meet Kaikayi. Ram notices the sadness and isolation on Bharat's face. Kaikayi brings the three princes in, Bharat remains outside. Ram touches Manthara's feet. She looks at him with scorn and recalls how he had hit her with stones in his childhood. Ram begs pardon for that incident. Manthara smiles and tells him that he doesn't need to apologize. However, if he repeats that incident, she won't forgive him. Kaikayi sends the princes to Kaushalya. Manthara asks her not to neglect her own son in her love for Ram. She then warns her not to look into Ram's eyes as there's something mysterious in his eyes. He won't allow her to love someone more than him if she looks into his eyes.
Sita and her sisters discuss the war. Mandavi and Shrutkirti think of their father and start weeping. Sita assures them that no injury can touch him as she prays to Mahadeva every morning. They behold a shooting star and pray for his safety. Urmila and Mandavi start quarreling and throw pillows. The queen hears it and warns them. The sisters rush and pretend to sleep to avoid getting scolded.
The princes enter Kaushalya's chamber. She concludes her prayers and beholds Ram first. She expresses her grief on being approached at the end. Ram tells her that she only taught him to think of others first, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan wanted to meet their mothers. He thought she would be delighted to see her son practising her teachings. Kaushalya grows emotional and embraces Ram. She utters that his face reflects the full moon's glow. She then embraces the other three princes and utters that Bharat is the most calm of them all, just like her. Ram beholds the golden doll of Shanta and looks at Kaushalya.
