Akdha lover is running a bit late in giving writeup. But I have decided to post this anyway, I will post in Akdhalover's thread when the writeup comes up. Repeat wala Magic for the repeat of a truly remarkable episode.
What to say of the episode? In my opinion, it ranks with the Ajmer visit as among the top 5 episodes of the entire series of 550 episodes. It was enthralling stuff and also pious.
The highlights of the episode were-
1 The Jalal Pratap confrontation was a great scene. The expressions of both and their words all had an intensity that was clearly visible. It really looked like two rivals sizing each other up.Here I would like to commend the actor playing Pratap, he has a good screen presence.
2 The Jalal Jodha scene is a chocolate ice cream treat for romance lovers. It was a long scene and let me recount the main points
- First Jalal embarrasses Jodha by commenting that atleast she loves someone. Those words reflected his own hurt at how Jodha was treating him and his desperate need for affection
-Again the sharts. This time Jalal's and what a naughty shart the second one was. Look at Rajat's expression as he puts a finger to his lips to silence her. Wow!
-Then Jalal gets Jodha to tend to his hand wound
-Next he makes her give him a head massage
- Then Jodha surprises him by asking him to remove his shirt. Look at the expression on his face as he says 'Shahenshah Ki izzat'. Wow
-Notice the double speed with which he takes his dress off
-His expression as Jodha tends to his wounds was something to savor but he was getting uncomfortable because this was the first time they were so close and personal, hence the quip about the Sherni
All in all a sparking JA scene with electric chemistry between Rajat and Pardhi. In this scene the best part was the expressions on the faces of the two.
3 The iconic Kali Maa. Superlatives fail me in describing the quality of this scene. It was the best of the best.
The fact that a Mughal Emperor was going to a Mandir was unique and immediately set high standards for the scene. The prayer scene that both Jodha and Jalal started seemed normal enough, but it become unusual when Jalal saw tears in Jodha's eyes. Then when Jalal learned of the reason he was distraught.
What followed next was the stuff of legends. He goes to alter and before Jodha's unbelieving eyes he bents down and puts his head down at the feet of Kali Maa. The goddess blesses him by smearing his fore head with vermillion.
It is not necessary to cut a head off to present it to the goddess. Bowing your head in supplication is enough. Jodha's promise is fulfilled.
What a scene! What an episode!
