Re-Living Season 1...

As we wait eagerly with anxious eyes to be a part of Season 2 of the same show that had been a "First" into the reality show arena, lets take a look back at that memorable Season 1 that remains etched in our minds 😳

I remember having watched Season 1 from the top 32 stage of the competition... The judges for the show were Satish Kaushik, Mahesh Manjrekar... The hosts Roshan Abbas and the very charming Mallaika Arora 😳

The contestants were divided into 2 groups - Group A and Group B, each with 8 boys and 8 girls... It used to be telecast twice a week with Group A performing one day and Group B, the other... There were two rounds in each episode - first, they had to enact a scene based on some theme for that day... and second, they had to dance again on a theme... And at the end of the episode came the very emotional part of eliminations Reality TV was not known until then, and this idea of public voting came as something so exciting - you get to choose your winners 😛 And with each exit, came so many emotions, tears, wishes and what not... It was something that had the viewers relate to instantly...

Coming to the participants, my favorites were undoubtedly Yuvika Chaudhary and Mohit Chadda(runner up in boys) - both from Group A... This Group was considered stronger as it had some stiff competitions and two favorites to win the title - Mohit Chadda and Bhaumik Sampat belonged to this group... Amongst the girls there was Yuvika Chaudhary known for her uncanny resemblance to Diya Mirza, and Aditi Sharma(winner amongst girls) who was a hit amongst the audience with her childish and innocent persona... Group B had Sarwar Ahuja(winner in boys) and Shraddha Arya (runner up in girls) with her bindaas attiutude...

Some other contestants need special mention here 😛 Himanshu Malhotra, Vipul Roy, Vishal Kaushik, Abhishekh Awasthi amongst the boys were all equally talented... Its a pity that they are not seen anywhere anymore 😭 I remember the time and their farewell speeches at their elimination - they all had a dream in their eyes to make it BIG - and with tears in their eyes had promised that they will be back soon 😭 But really we have been left craving for them... Special mention to Vishal Kaushik, whose exit i remember as one of the most emotional ones of the entire show 😭

Amogst the girls we had Priti Amin - with a magnetic smile and a fun filled attitude 😳 Then, Sudeepa who was ever so beautiful and a good singer as well... She had also participated in Antakshari earlier... Simran who was a very popular contestant and shared amazing chemistry with Mohit 😊 Anjali Pandey from Delhi - who was not a front runner to be frank, but had a lovely attitude and totally bindaas... Her's was the most emotional for me as she had grown upon the users slowly... She was a very good at heart girl 😛 And then there was Ankita Lokhande who shared a great timing with Sarwar and their song "Raat Ka Nasha Abhi" still is one of the best performances of the show...

Each day of the week(Mon-Thurs) they had a reality special of 30 mins duration titled "Bollywood Dreams"... The contestants were shown in their "off screen" image, sometimes visiting the Sai Baba Temple, sometimes at Essel World, sometimes taking lessons from Paintal or sometimes subject to the harsh comments of Sajid Khan... All this brought them really close to the viewers and became a part of us... I miss them all so much...

I really miss those contestants so much 😭 and have waited for 2 years for this show to get on again, and hoping that it will be as good as the first season... At that time sadly we had no India Forums and all we could do was to post a message for our favorite on the zee cinestar site in the hope that it would be published by their team 😆 But now, we have India Forums and we can discuss it all 😳

The title track summed it all beautifully - "Khwabon Ki Dastak Hai Sun Zaraa... Khushiyon Ki Aahat Hai Sun Zara.... Manzil Ka Ishaara Hoga Na Dobara... Manzil Ka Ishaara Hoga Na Dobara..."
