Ranjan suspected there was something wrong with his DIL he cautiously walked out to the balcony, she gently wiped tears and didnt look at him
"amma naa vekaren" she whispered
"Call me at night kanna u can hear Shubhang coo on the phone, evening la sema mood la irukkum vaal" Amma gushed with pride
(The baby is in his element in the evenings)
"Shravu vaal enna panradu" II asked about Shravu
"He is a handful, Vandu worries what to do with him, she is unable to spend time with him, Bala is running between Munirka and DII, paavam kozhandai" Amma lamented
"Does he play with Nandu?"
"Sam calls me EVERYDAY!!! She insists she will send lunch dinner... she has a young child too... whenever she makes anything sweet, ice cream, cake, mithai... I have so many of her containers" Ammawas sheepish
"she is awfully nice Amma" II nodded
"she comes by for 10 or 15 minutes between her social calls... and running around with kids" Amma sighed

Ii grunted unable to speak

"Lada tumse?" Ranjan the jasoos asked

"Arey he went to work early... and he just me a text with pictures of two Chinese dudes" Ii laughed

She hugged him

Made pulao, or set everything up in the rice cooker, hit start... for Ranjan and Manya's lunch
Fixed herself a fruit spread toast
Changed into another pretty floral dress, a grey sweater on top, thongs on her feet, tentatively brought a blanket over from Ranjan's bed and draped Manya
Ranjan noticed that as he walked out of the bedroom
II brought her purse from the office and realized... she didnt have money or cards... she had Indian rupees in India...
She hadnt brought anything from India, just her phone... and laptop bag
Her laptop bag might contain Rs.500 or Rs1,000 in change thats it...
II slowed down and walked to the kitchen and sat down
she opened her purse... A wad of Euros sat in it
Ranjan was getting... a bottle of beer...
"Purse to laayi nahi gudiya" he said
"HE TOOK MY THINGS" II shrieked
Ranjan chuckled
"I have everything" II argued
Ranjan nodded
"Phir theek hai" he nodded innocently
"He is not giving me my stuff back"
"Teri cheez churayi usne?" Ranjan pretended to be menacing
"I didnt DO athing... I mean if I had pulled a prank then it wud make sense no?"

"On a call" Ranjan texted
R&B waited 40 painful minutes Ranjan put his call on hold and called his son back
"where is she?" he asked impatiently
"she went out"
"WHERE?" he panicked
"Champs Elysees" he said
"with Manya?" he asked smugly
"No Manya is asleep"
"ALONE?" "Why did u let her go?" R&B demanded
Ranjan was startled
"U live on 8th... the Champs is right behind the Arc de Triomphe... ghar se 7 min lagta hai... chalkar gayi hai" Ranjan pooh poohed his worry
"She doesnt answer the phone or carry her phone" R&B bit out😡
"SHE JUST LEFT" Ranjan argued
"Did she say where she was going?" R&B asked😲
"No... there are only a 1000 stores on that strip" Ranjan said amused
"Even if there were 10 she would find a way to get lost" R&B panicked😳
