Rumours about cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actress Geeta Basra have been rife for some time now. The latest buzz suggests that the couple will be tying the knot in October.
The rumoured date is set as 29th October and the venue is said to be Hotel Club Cabana in Phagwara.
The couple are not the only example of cricketer and actress jodis and the current one which is even more well-known is Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. One wonders when wedding bells will ring for them as well.

It can finally be told. In one of the most open secrets in the world of showbiz and glamour, it was always on the cards that Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh would be a couple soon. Going steady for around half a decade, it was always a given that the two would be eventually tying the knot. Now this is happening indeed.

Come October 29, and the duo would be a married couple.

"Yes, they have finally decided to take the plunge," confirms a common friend, "It was always just a matter of time. They were always together and fortunately, once they were committed to each other, never once was there any doubt about them looking elsewhere. In fact when a stray article or two came occasionally about a split between them, both Geeta and Harbhajan used to have a hearty laugh around that."

Well, both of them would continue to have a final laugh as the two families have agreed on the final date as October 29, when their kids would be tying the knot.

"The celebrations would begin much in advance though," the friend adds, "In true Punjabi tradition, the festivities would kick start with mehendi, followed by sangeet and 'chooda' ceremony, while leading to the big day. A weeklong event has been planned as the wedding in Jalandhar would be followed by a reception, which is expected to be held in New Delhi."

We tried contacting Geeta but realized that she is currently in London with her family, building plans for the big wedding, and hence largely incommunicado. However, she would return by end of month and post that would get heads-on into the preparations that would span over 50 days.
